UFC bans and disqulifies fighters for using downers ( such as pot ) but allows uppers such as cocaine? Uppers could definitely be considered PEDs, where as downers actually impede performance.
I remember the big deal in boxing many years a go when Aaron Pryor was suspected of using cocaine to give him extra energy in his fight against Alexis Arguello. He was sipping from a little black bottle in between rounds. It was liquified cocaine and later Pryor was found out to be a serious addict. His win was never overturned.
That UFC actually allowed Jon Jones to fight after testing positive for cocaine is just so hypocritical and political. If UFC wants to retain any kind of credibility, hey should overturn the Jones-Comier decision, accept the blame for allowing the fight, strip Jon Jones of the title and suspend him for a year.
Not to classify cocaine as a form of PEDS not only demonstrates their ignorance but also sends the wrong message. Whatever image they had prior to this, UFC totally blew it by just sending Jones to rehab.

It's only allowed if you are a cash cow and named Jon Jones.

Well, the UFC obviously didn't want this event falling through and I don't think anyone can consider it a PED in camp. I'm a huge Cormier fan and was rooting for him, but unless Jones actually tests positive in the post fight test, I see absolutely nothing wrong with what happened. The Aaron Pryor example is bullshit. If anything was in the bottle, it very likely wasn't cocaine.

Chuck Liddell clearly had an issue while he was still fighting.

Look at that gif of him in the crowd while he's watching a fight. He's clearly coked out of it.

Marijuana is traditionally classified as a hallucinogen.
Various strains have made it possibly a stimulant or depressant, depending.
Not all pot is the same. Only guys like me have the hook-up for the really good shit.

When Nick Diaz went up against Gomi, he needed to hallucinate in order to come up with a creative submission that would work against the Asian ADCC champ and KO artist. It was that weed that gave Diaz the idea to go for the gogoplata to put Gomi away. Without the weed, would he have thought of that?

You obviously don't know your boxing nor anything about Aaron Pryor. His whole career eventually went down the skids because of cocaine and yes, he was as high a a kite during that fight. I was ring side.
UFC has suspended fighters based on pre-fight tests.
Sure Jon Jones is a big draw but that doesn't give him a free get out of jail card .
Guys used to juice in Pride most of the time (Coleman, Kerr, Randleman ) to name a few. Hendo used to juice and used PEDS in UFC and even an exception was made for him. The UFC arbitrarily decided to go after Vitor Belfort and that's when most of the fans got wind of it and rules officially changed. Apparantly Jon Jones got a pass ( just like Hendo ) but with a different substance.
It's still CHEATING no matter how you look at it. And we all know that Jones is a dirty fighter who averages one eye poke per fight.

It was out-of-competition. I suspect they'll fine him an "undisclosed" amount. But he's not getting suspended.

It was the AC who tested Jones and DW is letting them do all the testing.

I'm only interested in whether or not he gained an advantage by using cocaine. If he didn't it shouldn't be illegal. Are we even sure it banned out of competition?

Jones was all ready in training camp and the shit was kept under wraps till after the fight. Had Cormier known about it at the time, he could have pulled out of the fight and rightfully so.

Holy shit. There have been many comparisons, but this one really drives the point home on how hypocritical the ufc is. Firing people for tweets but cocaine is a-ok
