I'm used to making a lot more but it's usually as a contractor. You make more as a contractor and get a lot of tax free pay but you don't get benefits. Robinson is offering benefits and a permanent slot. But like I said, I don't wanna be poor when I get there. I'm still mulling it over. I might do it.
If money is the main factor that is stopping you I say apply for it and ask for above the pay range. Sell yourself. Let them know your current salary in relation to the cost of living compared to what they have to offer in that location. I have no idea on the demand of the type of job you do, but if you're confident you are worth the money then prove it to them and you never know what they will say. I know several people that shoot for a higher salary and actually get it. Especially worth it when you have nothing to lose. Maybe you can get $35/hr, which is still not high, but much more doable for that area.
