Whether you think it was the short punch or the knee, the way he told the crowd to "give it up to Francis he did his job" was his classy way of saying don't boo him, its not his fault. When he was asked at the post fight press conference why he felt he needed to do that he said "what else do you want me to do it"

Edit:

He definitely got punched, but its unfortunate his knee gave up like that

His not made for combat anymore.
Edit: Well the past 5 years anyway.

The whole situation is shit. That simple. Can't really blame either guy.

Who cares. The upper cut/shovel punch was the beginning of the end.

He also literally said he thinks he lost because of his knee at the post-fight press conference (Timestamped)

I wonder if it’s similar to Travis Browne vs Bigfoot, where Browne injured himself kicking the air, and Bigfoot pounced. Either way, if he can’t continue, and it’s not due to a foul by the opponent, it should be a loss.

Lame. He's a tool and made his legacy off of injuries and a trilogy that should never have happened.

funny doctors haven't said that. Is he medically suspended?
Having bad knees that buckle when you get flash knocked down is your fault.

Yeah, it's the old "my hats off to him, but..." move. Cain's career seemed to have been mostly hype. He beat JDS twice(which is by far the most impressive wins of his career), beating Brock is a bit less impressive, then it's really nothing else too impressive. He's basically 3-3 against top competition then it drops way off to Bigfoot and Travis Brown, then drops off even worse after that. I don't root against him or anything, but he seemed like a slightly bigger, slightly more aggressive Randy Couture, minus the solo porn tape.

I get that the punch buckled him and his knee gave out in the process. Unfortunate injury, but he wasn't out cold and wasn't out of the fight.

People complaining about early stoppages when people have taken way more shots and have been hurt far worse, but aren't saying shit about this...

I'm not a huge Cain fan at all, but if it wasn't for the knee getting crushed under his own weight, I really don't think he'd be done in that fight. He was clear headed right after it happened and he easily could've come back from it.

I don't like this because I wanted to see a war, but it feels like most of the people around here are just enjoying trashing Cain.

That’s why you don’t talk to a guy after his brain got powdered by a Ford Escort.

So his leg just exploded huh? Was fine the whole time he was training but 30 seconds into his work day it explodes?

Hmm its almost like there was some external force acting on him... like a punch maybe

I'm one of those people who complain about early stoppages. Huge difference here is that he turtles up while grimacing and was laying in the fetal position while Francis was punching him in the face. HUGE difference from a guy that lost his equilibrium trying to defend himself. I'm just as chapped because that's not what I wanted from the fight either, but Cain looked done to me.
