Bendo is a very large 155 lb fighter. He has looked so in the past. You should not go from being very large at one weight, to way too small at the very next weight up. Should have a 163 weight class. Probably 2 more weight classes beside that, for starters.

Looks like a normal lw to me, much bigger lws like alvarez and cheisa.
Rda or khabib would have tooled AK, beson is a different style completely.

LMAO Koreshkov would b*tch smack Eddie Alvarez.. Eddie is big? Bendo is bigger. RDA isn't bigger than Bendo. What???

Really? Guys at HW fight peple 20,30, even 50lbs bigger than them. Smaller guys need to step up their game if 5-10lbs makes that big of a difference to them. This is just another reason why HW is king.

It's a good point, I think there should be more, but it'll become very messy.

If MMA organisations made more classes, the first port of call would have to be a Cruiserweight division - 230lbs maybe.

When did i say eddie alvarez would beat AK? I said hes bigger than bendo, you're a moron if you think otherwise they're both the same height post a pic of both of them.
I said rda and khabib would tool AK, you're acting as if benson was the best lw ever, hes a guy who got most his wins by split decision facing guys his own size.

I think Bendo's a normal size LW and tonight showed he probably should stay at LW.

I see the sense in that because of the massive jumps between classes at the top end, but given how deep welterweight and lightweight are, putting a division between them would make a lot more sense than putting one between two very thin divisions in LHW and HW.

Bendo isn't a massive 155er, he's got big legs but that's about it, his torso has always been incredibly lean.

What this shows truly is that there are weight classes for a reason.

I feel the talent is currently only available to add a weight class somewhere between FW and WW. You cant put another weigh-class at the higher weights because the talent is not available at the moment.

If anything rearranged it so HW starts around 195 all big LHW could probably fight at HW. Big middleweights could go up to LHW. At least that way you would have more HW.

This is what I saw as well. I'm probably the biggest Ben fan on here, but he was massively outsized. No excuse though, I do believe he should stay at LW however.

Koreshkov is a bad fight for him anyways, but the size difference at a high level is just too much. Thatch had the size, but he was out of his depth skillwise and couldn't handle the pace. Benson tried to put the pace on Koreshkov in rounds 3 and 4 and Koreshkov wasn't having it. A skilled big man beats a skilled little man every time.

By the way, full credit to Ben Henderson for being a fucking thug. He didn't have to fight Koreshkov, he could have fought ANYBODY at LW or WW and Bellator would have set it up, but he wanted the champion at the biggest weight class he can reasonably fight at, a much bigger hurty russian killer with killer stand up and killer wrestling in his prime. Benson tried his damndest, but Koreshkov is that good.

Bendo wasn't any smaller than Askren was when he fought Koreshkov. All it showed me tonight was if you can't take Koreshkov down you are in for a world of hurt.

How does it show that they have weight classes for a reason when they both made the same weight and Koreshkov didn't look that drained at weigh ins?

Other than the obvious 10kg/20 pounds or more difference.

I remember Bendo having difficult weight cuts.. Rogan talked about it on multiple occasions. Teh WW talk for Bendo has been happening for a while because he struggled to cut the weight.

It would get too confusing too many weight classes. Henderson has fought 99% of his career at 155, its his fault. he should have stayed at 155. He was tiny last night against Koreshkov, the size difference in the fight was very noticeable.

This was more like a Welterweight vs a 145 Iber. Henderson has lost weight, I dont know why. He was bigger in Edgar fights

the size and strength difference was pretty shocking

any time a russian shows both explosiveness and doesnt get tired......i get highly suspicious

that said, bendo fought like shit. i dont think bendo has a high fight iq. if you pay attention, bendo gets walked down til his back against the cage, freezes, and then gets lit up when hes stationary. it was amateurish. theres no threat of a takedown coming his way and nothing stopping bendo from circling to his right. he just keeps making the same mistake over and over. this is basic stuff

bendo was in over his head but if you eliminate the times bendo stopped moving with his back against the cage and got lit up, it was very competitive in the center of the cage

imo that pretty much sums up bendo though. hes got the athleticism of an elite fighter with above average skills. he just relies too much on his athleticism and doesnt have the fight iq. when he fights a bigger stronger guy, his biggest weapon is taken away
