Pac stopped doing the Humpty Hump for Digital Underground, and after his verse on Same Song he blew up.

G-Dragon has had a lot of success outside of Big Bang. Though, I don't think he has left the group.

Tom Petty never really left the heartbreakers though, they were his backing band and they still played on the albums sold as solo ventures. I'm pretty sure that was all just a matter of contract language.

Does masquerading onstage as Humpty Hump in order to perpetuate the illusion really count as being a member of Digital Underground?

(Says the guy who tried to put over Public Announcement.)

Busta Rhymes
Mystikal (bootcamp clique)
Dr. Dre
Gwen Stefani
The Game

Lil Wayne. Even though he ain't my cup of tea.

From Hot Boyz to people riding his D over those...solo joints. Homeboy moved up.

He was better then. Now he just makes random "hashtags"... #facebook

dude that made Foo Fighters

I guess it depends on how you define success. Dave may have made more money post-Nirvana if you add up all of his album sales, I don't know, but he never came out with a single album that rivaled Nirvana's Nevermind.

Timberlake.

This can be argued in a sense, especially since he's branched off into acting. But the music industry has changed so much, even w/ his tremendous solo success from Justified on, he'll never be anything close to Nsync status.

For perspective, the 20/20 experience sold 900k in it's first week, crazy for this scene today.
Nsync's No Strings Attached sold 1M albums......in the first day alone. 1 day.....2.5M in the first week. Celebrity sold 1.9M in the first week. that'll never happen again

Danny Elfman
and Tina Turner after bitchslapping Ike

The most obvious example is McCartney.

Made most of his fortune during his tenure with Wings if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah Foo Fighters most sold album has only gone double platinum whereas Nevermind went 10Xplat and In Utero went 5Xplat
