I heard that your stomach is the first to gain fat and the last to lose. If that's the case, which area do men lose fat first?

I've wanted to bulk up for so long and I achieved it for the most part. That was a few months ago and now I want to get cut and lean. I've been running for the past 3 weeks, not eating as much and drinking lots of coffee.

I feel my cardio is getting ALOT better....but I still look pretty much the same.

Everyone gains fat in different spots depending on your body type, genetics, etc. Losing fat is a hard thing to do... just keep going and it'll eventually go away.

As time passes, with mental exercise and dieting, we men loose fat from our heads first.

***Bare with me, I simply had to say it.***

this cannot be stressed enough:

YOU CANNOT SPOT REDUCE

okay that being said, it is true that men tend to store our weight in our guts. therefore as our body fat decreases the gut will show that. however you can't target an area for fat loss. only overall body fat decrease will lead to a specific area being more defined.

also, dont worry so much about appearance. if you notice your cardio is getting better than you are doing something right. ripped abs never won a trophy.

Its all genetics man. Personally, I lose fat in my arms and upper body almost immediately. Stomach and legs last. Different for everyone.

i was "bulking " and was the dumbest thing i have ever done i was 79 kilos ( we use the metrical system in southa merica) im 1.72 cm height now im 69kilos and 2 things:
1.-never been in better shape before
2.- never felt helthy before mentally and phisically
but , doing that was the hardest thing to do , i definitely never gonna " bulk " againg in my whole life

i could use roids and be cut in 2 month with no significant efford , i didnt though

maybe you can have time to see this thread http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=504273

Facial area is first for most people men and women.

After that it depends on you, but last is usually around the stomach / ass area, it depends on the person though as some people spread the fat around their whole body more evenly than others [many Asians do].

You can't control where you are losing fat from though. It is up to your body, so you just have to be patient and never give up. You might find that trying to get "ripped" really isn't worth the effort or very healthy for you though.

That is actually very common for most men.

In my case i tend to get "legs big" first, then Guerra/Augustinesque ass next then the gut which is very fortunate on my part because people that store fat mostly in the belly are at higher risk for cardiovascular diseases, thank you Anthropology.

It really just depends, i know people who are on three competitive sports teams at a time, and still have quite a high body fat. it really just depends on genetics, diet, and body type.

what about an abs contest?

I've never had a six-pack, altho I was pretty close this past summer, and my legs are Cro-cop-ish in size (and I'm 5'9"). So those are the two body fat store hold-outs on me...
