What are the basics? What is needed before bluebelt?

TS you are not going to get any set answer. Some instructors throw belts around like crazy, others have set guidelines and others still only promote based on tournament participation.

And there are other instructors that honestly don't pay attention to the belts. They look at person and see their skill level by how the roll. This happens a lot more in the smaller schools where everyone knows everyone.

Once in a blue moon it will dawn on them . " Crap that guy is still a white belt. I should promote him."

BODY MOVEMENTS:
a. snakes
b. front snakes

STANDING TECHNIQUES:
1. TAKE DOWNS
a. basic double leg, at least two finishes
b. basic single leg, at least two finishes

2. TAKE DOWN DEFENSE
a. proper sprawl
b. under hooks
c. front headlock
d. whizzer

3. SELF-DEFENSE

GUARD POSITION (TOP)
1. POSTURE
a. one hand holding lapels, other holding pants

a. standing with postures a, b, c, push knee with hand/elbow
b. knee in tailbone break
