Based on the fight when I heard 49-46 I half assumed Gus was the new champ but to give Jones 4 rounds is insane...

It came down to the 2nd round. It was a quiet round where Gus didn't land very many significant shots and Jones landed a lot of patty cake kicks that probably added up to the win.

The rest of the rounds were easy to score.
