I don’t think Gilbert was known for his wrestling.

And Wonderboy is usually really good at distance and not being controlled.

Did he just get old?

Prime Woodley wasn’t able to keep him down on the ground like that.

Prime Woodley rarely wrestled. Woodley basically ceased to use his offensive wrestling entirely once he joined the UFC from strikeforce.

Burns is at one of the best wrestling gyms in the world, Sanford MMA, imo 2nd best to ATT Coconut Creek. So the fact that he's learned good wrestling technique is not surprising. This was always going to be a weakness of Wonderboy's, the fact that he generally hasn't been given matchups that would expose it, not his fault but also doesn't mean it didn't exist.

Gilbert is a bronze medalist in submission wrestling. It's still better than kempo Karate bullshit

Maybe but Burns is a multiple-time BJJ world champ so despite the style difference he will still control anyone he wants.

Erm, Burns is pretty good on the ground TS, it makes a lot of sense.

He is big and is a panic wrestler, nothing weird with that performance.
