What’s the point in letting old legends fight cardio machines?

Happened with BJ against Guida. I know Clay is no spring chicken but what on earth is the point in making someone known for bad cardio, especially one way out of his prime on the worst losing streak in ufc history, fight someone relentless like Guida. Makes no sense... why even let Bj fight at all if that’s what you’re gonna do. I’m not saying feed the legends easy fights but at least give them fights they have a chance of winning stylistically

Would it somehow be better if they fought powerhouses that knocked them out quickly? Theres give and take everywhere. The only real lesson here is that BJ shouldn’t be fighting anymore. I mean he just lost to the gatekeeper from his era...

Bj penn and anderson should be doing exhibition matches that dont mean anything if theyre gonna let them fight still. Kind of like sanchai in muay thai. They let that dude beat up decent low level guys so they can be like look the goat is still the goat.

OK TS, then name a fighter BJ can beat.

They've tried Siver, Hall and now Guida. So give us a name.

Guida is not the problem here.

Would you prefer a KO artist instead?

To be fair, Guida isn't known for his finishing abilities giving BJ all the rounds to do work.

If that fight was only one round....BJ would be on a winning streak.

Let BJ fight Caraway at a catchweight next

Would be a good retirement fight

The ufc is a business not a charity. The kind of show money BJ makes relative to actual contenders....he SHOULD’T get an “easy” fight. It’s time to hang up the gloves.
