... get his shot but Khabib didn´t?

Woodley: after an embarrassing 30-27 to Rory and 2 victories over Dong Hyun Kim and Kelvin Gastelum stays 18 months out and comes back for the title shot....

Khabib: undefeated career and after a 6-fight winning streak including RDA who became champion later on, stays 20 months out and comes back to fight Ferguson (who pulled out before the fight)...

What´s wrong with this picture?

I'm guessing they don't like the fact he celebrates Ramadan as it limits his potential scheduling if he were to win it.

Maybe it's.... Whatyacall it, racism but against religion

All that pissing and moaning about "Racism" got him a free pass to the front of the line...doesn't get more "privileged" than that...

So you are saying that something in UFC is not fair?

Wonderboy, Maia, ever heard of them?

What does that fucking prove? I didn't say WW didn't have contenders. I saw LW had more. Which it does.

It's easier for a fighter to hold out for a title shot when there are fewer contenders in a division. That's a basic fact about this sport.

Khabib and Ferguson were contenders. Wonderboy and Maia were contenders. Exact same number.

You're ignoring Alvarez, the contender when Woodley/ Lawler was booked.

You're also ignoring the fact Khabib NEVER was promised a title shot. Khabib was booked to fight Cerrone prior to his series of injuries.

So, LW did have more contenders. Especially back then. Secondly, Khabib didn't have the shot promised to him and had taken another fight. Then following that, he was booked for two more fights, both of which he pulled out of.

You're comparing wildly different situations and circumstances. Woodley was said to be in a #1 contender match and he won it, then sat out until he got the shot he was told he earned.

Khabib never won a #1 contender match, was actively booked against other fighters before and in between injuries, and was in a division that from 2014 until now has rotated through contenders faster than any other division.

You honestly think Dana White allowed Woodley a title shot, becauae he was complaining about racism???{<huh}

You should stop posting. You're too damned idiotic, even for Sherdog.

Ok, fair enough, but first of all, how does Eddie Alvarez become a contender? By losing to Cerrone on his debut? Or by beating Melendez (who only beat Sanchez in the ufc)? So, being 1-1 in the ufc he gets a fight against Pettis for the title shot??? In the deepest ufc division??? Just No. Plus, this idea of "Woodley earned it" and then he sat 18 months out doesn´t work man, remember that Cruz was the champion and never lost a fight, so he more than anyone deserved to be back immediately for the title fight, it doesn´t matter if it was a longer period, Dom was waaaay more deserving of a shot at the title on his returns, yet they gave him an extra fight. They should have done the same with Woodley and give him an extra fight on his come back and give Wonderboy his shot.

Not really sure where Dom fits into this. Again, his situation is different than the other two.

No one's saying Woodley deserved it the most. But comparing him to Khabib doesn't make any sense. Nor does comparing him to Dom.

He got the shot, he won. That's pretty much the beginning and end of it.

It has everything to do with the topic, all 3 guys sitting out for injuries expecting a title fight. The less deserving gets it, the other two clearly more deserving don't. How does that NOT have to do with it?
