I am mainly going to visit family in San Fran last week of March.

I will be with my wife and our two primary grades-aged children.

I am considering also going to Disneyland and maybe Palm Springs.

How many days should I plan for Disneyland?

Additional suggestions are appreciated.

Update post #49:

We spent two days in Disneyland.
We stopped for a night in Mountain View and had lunch at Google the next day en route to San Fran.
Relatives took us on a car tour of San Fran.

I ate Mexico food once near Disneyland and once in Mountain View.
The Mountain View Mexican food was better, but not as good as the burrito I had in Salt Lake City.
I think the key to enjoying the Salt Lake City burrito was that I was very hungry at the time.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Leave the family at San Fran, hop on a connecting flight to Vegas.

You're welcome.

You can do Disneyland in a day but if you’re coming from far and want to see both parks and take your time two would be sufficient.

Those places are far as fuck from San Fran....better of staying up there, go to Yosemite.

Disneyland would be alright since you have kids and I'm assuming you don't get to go often. I still go as an adult every few years with my girlfriend and friends. But it is really expensive to take a whole family to.

You could also stay somewhat close to San Francisco and take your family down to to the central coast of Monterey/ Big Sur. Beautiful coastline and you could even take your kids to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which is cool but also expensive in its own right.

I also would consider visiting Yosemite for a day/night. If you have never been, it is definitely something you should check out.

We are coming from Edmonton and may drive through the Rockies and/or through Yosemite on a future trip when the children are old enough to appreciate the scenery. There are direct flights from Edmonton to LA and Palm Springs, while San Fran connects over LA or Seattle or Vancouver. I think we will fly to LA, rent a car to San Fran, and fly back from San Fran on this trip.

Okay that could work. If your kids are too young to enjoy Yosemite, then def go to Disneyland. They will hate Palm Springs....lol

Monterey could fit in with the plan of flying to LA, driving to San Fran, and flying back from San Fran. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have a relative with a vacation place in Palm Springs. If I go to visit her there, my children will enjoy seeing her pet dog, while I will enjoy the warm weather.

See the Watts towers
Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't know about Watts Towers. From pictures, it looks like kind of a barren area.

Is there a good place to get burritos in LA? I haven't been in Western USA much, and so far the best I have had burritos at was a food truck in Salt Lake City.

kids need to experience Disney Land, to know how it feels to pay a shit load of money just to wait in the line in the fucking hot sun, to know what it means to wait and see if it's worth waiting for what they're waiting for.

If you thought the burritos in Utah were good, the Mexican food in LA will blow your fucking mind.

The California coast/redwood forests and the Oregon coast is an amazing drive/camping vacation, if you want a different idea. Lots of wineries in Northern Cali as well.

You can come to my house and pet my dogs if you'd like

Are you being serious right now?
Of course I'm serious. The burrito I got from the food truck in Salt Lake City was the culinary highlight of my last western USA trip to LA, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City. I have low expectations for this trip, and another good burrito would be nice. I appreciate recommendations for LA and San Fran.
