Hard to judge since Jones was so far above everyone else to the point that most of the fighters in the LHW division back then would have been underrated when compared to current LHWs on the roster.

''Jan lost to Gus and Manuwa before he lost his chin.
Prochazka had a very competitive fight with an old and washed up King Mo.
Last year smith got beat up by Glover.
Rakic don't even know how to finish a fight on the ground.
The only guys from that era of the sport are now Glover, Santos and Jan, and they are at the top.

So has the level of the game really being upgraded, or the old lions Jones Gus Dc and Rumble just got bored and moved on?''

This board being reserved for 'Khabib retirement', Conor vs Fighter X and GOAT discussions for the next 3-6 years. How dare you to post a thread not naming either of those? Do you even UFC?

Santos is the low key killer in the whole group, without a dominant wrestler swimming near the top of this heap, anyone forced to stand and trade with this guy is in grave danger every second of the fight.

We'll see how well he recovered from his surgery, but he is the Darkhorse of the group to come out on top when the dust settles if he is relatively healthy again.

LHW has been awful for years, and not only because of Jones' dominance. The division simply failed to develop new talent to replace the aging legends. So for a long time, it was paper thin. But in the last year or so, a few young guys have popped onto the scene and breathed new life into the division, e.g., Reyes, Rakic, and Prochazka. Hopefully Crute and Ankalaev also take their games to the next level.

Within the next couple years, this could turn out to be a very compelling division.
