Both guys are very good on the ground and it’s very interesting to see how two OG heavyweight BJJ guys go at it.

Do you expect them to cancel each other out and we see a striking match or will they hit the mat and see some scrambling?

I would expect Werdum to pull something off here late in the match if they get tired.

I wish they will grapple all match long and show their "jiu jitsu" skills. Most likely they will just perform a brawl fest.

Who knows what Doom will look like post usada but he should win this. Oleinyks tendency to lower his head and throw bombs is a perfect way to get kneed in the face. I dont think the fight will hit the mat

I don't think Oleinik cares
Guy will grapple with anyone and look for subs.
I don’t think he can realistically sub werdum unless a super old off the juice shell of the former werdum shows up

Who knows ? he also loves throwing huge overhand haymakers

he rocked hunt on the feet and werdum has a tendency to charge forward with his hands down

threads been made multiple times ts

most everyone agrees werdum has a huge technical advantage on the ground

Hopefully they will grapple for 15 minutes. There's no "audience" who'll start booing

Anything is possible here really.
I just know he won't shy away from ground battle against anyone. He is strong and crazy skilled, experienced and so is Werdum ofc.
Hopefully we get to see them down.
Rooting for Boa,would be a huge win for him.

rooting for him as well

it’s 2020, boa subbing werdum with a ezekiel choke while being mounted wouldn’t even shock anyone at this point

I think Oleinik has the advantage on the ground.

Overall, Werdum is the better BJJ guy. BUT, Oleinik is better at old-man-BJJ. And they are both old now.

It would be funny if Oleinik goes to the ground and starts inviting Werdum in his guard, like Doom did with Overeem :D

Doom should win but this is not a safe bet by any means.

No, Werdum probably TKO's him. I'd love it if rusty, overweight Werdum comes in pulling troll faces and gets KO'd though.

Battle of the old men..both 42 years old.
Curiously they were born only 35 days apart. Nice fun fact for you there.
Personally I think it'll be a brawl fest as Alexei has always shown a willingness to throw hands if the other guy prefers to stand.
In a wild brawl I'd lean towards Werdum 3 times out of 5 due to superior technical striking ability but questionable fight IQ. Alexei might look like a wild man on the feet, and he is, but at least that's his plan. Werdum can totally lose his mind (ala the stipe match).
In a ground match I'd lean towards Werdum 9 times out of 10. A hail Mary old man squeeze sub is always possible from Alexei, and especially if Werdum is gassed or rocked (remember post USADA), but it's a low probability event.

HOWEVER FUCKING WAR ALEXEI MY FAVOURITE HEAVYWEIGHT I'm putting$$$ on him to win as I always do

Hopefully they end up grappling but if it’s on the feet Werdum wins handily. On the floor I don’t have a clue.

They should cut the wrestling foreplay and just start on the ground
