Went from eating bad to good feeling

I was vegan for about 5 years in my early 20s and eventually felt like shit and went back to average American diet and felt back to normal almost immediately.

Then a little less than a decade ago I cut out everything but fatty meats and cheese. No sugar or alcohol or anything else. Actually felt like shit for a few months then once I figured it out I feel better than I ever have. I'm never tired, sleep like a baby, and I'm in good shape. The average western diet is legit poison. Only downside is that eating super clean is insanely expensive.
Can I ask, what does 'figured it out' mean? What did you change?

I think historically meat was kind of a luxury. I'm not sure we're actually supposed to eat it every day. Especially red meat

I do crave it a couple of times a month though and I always figured that was something to do with your body wanting the iron.

You’ve left out the main part… historically humans did not eat anything as much as we do. Not just meat. All the junk we are eating now is heavily processed and is slowly killing us. We should not be eating 3-5 meals a day ffs unless you’re a freak athlete or burning enormous amounts of calories.

Anyone go from eating like shit for a long time to more healthy like a big change? How did your body adjust? I never had bloating or abdominal discomfort before but seems my body is in shock now. How about you guys? One think i noticed is i dont feel tired needing a nap anymore. I wake up at 330 and go to bed at 9ish dont really fall asleep on the couch watching tv

Edit: to clarify:
I barely ate for 4 days after a very stressful event then I decided to cut meat out the next day. Im eating oatmeal, lots of fruit, carrots, pbj peanut butter, granola bars, olives, apple sauce, rice cakes, almonds, Cashews, broccoli carrot fruit protein shake, pasta, lasagna

Im on day 5 just have bloating and some minor abdominal cramp now. I have energy and feel good other than that

I was eating too much meat before especially a lot of fatty meat like skirt steak 80/20 burgers, sausage, chicken thighs etc

Im seeing my doctor Wed and a nutritionist Thu also

Went from eating everything to only eating meat + green veggies. A lot more energy. Bloating etc. was rare.

If you're trying to eat healthier, your body might respond weirdly for the first couple weeks. After that, if you still have bloating, etc. try to eliminate specific foods slowly until you understand how your body reacts to different ingredients.

For past several days after identifying foods with decent amount of potassium and making an effort to eat enough to meet daily recommended amounts, not really feeling like the blood pressure is better.

Not feeling as much stomach discomfort as before since dinner is pretty much Campbell's Chunky low sodium soup for big chunk of potassium, so the poop is still solid enough and smooth exit.

Usually the first week is brutal when trying to stop junk food. But after that week it's pretty easy.

I agree just the meat i was eating was not the healthiest and I was abusing it with my diet. 90 days the doctor said then we will see how my body responds

I will most likely get back to meat after my initial 90 day diet. I just wont abuse it. I was a glutton wirh the meat and chose too much of the wrong meat. The doctor said it's gonna take 90 days for my body to fully respond.

Thank you. I have 5 more days of a 12 day stretch of a drastic diet change before my nutritionist meeting

The carnivore/keto craze hadn't hit yet so I was kinda flying by the seat of my pants and made many mistakes. I lost too much weight initially and felt like shit after the initial 'keto high.' Added salt, potassium, and magnesium citrate daily and fixed the issue. I also struggled with nausea and just couldn't get all my calories in. I was only eating 3x daily and realized that too much fat in one sitting was the cause. I spread my meals to 5x daily and fixed the issue.

Lost 40 pounds in 10 weeks and feel great!
i ones lost 30 lb in 1 week and half by not eating at all system needs a break from any food for period of time to energize regenerate and optimize i felt so good had a jump in my step

Eating clean means lean meats such as boneless skinless chicken breast, lean steak and fish lots of green vegetables like broccoli and asparagus and omelets with some cheese and avocado
So what exactly are you eating thats making you feel bloated healthy whole foods will not do that

I stared taking Balance of Nature then eat an Infant I want . Feel great. Much better than I was . Seriously Balance of nature really helps its not just bullshit imo
I was always led to believe that leads to massive weight gain

You always feel better when you eat better. But that is a lot of high GI carbs - keep it up and you will get the diabetes ;) And where the fuck are your proteins? You need at the very least 1g per 1kg of body weight just for maintenance.

That is not even close to eating clean that list contains way too many sugars and carbohydrates and most importantly barely any veggies and no lean protein whatsoever or even eggs

You don't even need to eat better to feel better. Often times, if you suddenly start drinking a bottle of plain water 3 times a day you'll feel immediately more healthy.

Thanks. I've added turkey burgers

I'd say replace pasta with farro or quinoa.
Add in chicken breast, eggs and salmon.

Make that peanut butter the all natural type with ingredients of peanuts and salt (unless you want the no salt version).

Beans are also a good source of protein. You can make a pretty healthy white bean salad with the internets help.

Lots of green things. I've been on a bok choy, rapini and leek kick lately but generally just a lot of green things.
