GSP is widely considered as one of the best MMA fighters of all time. He finished his career with a split decision against Johnny Hendricks, the closest anyone has come to beating him in over six years.
Hendricks then beats Lawler by decision before being beaten in the rematch by split decision a year after GSP did the same.
Lawler then beats Macdonald after Macdonald body gave up in the fifth round, his first time ever seeing a fifth round. Macdonald was winning on nearly everyone's score card.
Lawler then beats Condit in a fight that will be argued about until there is a rematch. That is 5 fighters in 5 fights that could be champion. While Hendricks has since been destroyed by Wonderboy and GSP is ,as of now, still retired the division has 3 guys that have just put on 2 of the best title fights we have seen. It also has the most exciting title prospect in any division since a certain bearded Irishman, in Wonderboy.
The possibility of the returning undefeated champion along with 2 other fighters Woodley and Maia with legitimate contender credentials added to Lawler, Condit and Macdonald makes this the most stacked division in the UFC.
We haven't even mentioned a returning Diaz. That makes 7 different possible fighters (not including Hendricks) we could see be champion by the end of the have the year (presuming there is a minimum of 2 title fights).
Is there any other division in the UFC that has this amount of legitimate contenders or possible champions?

Lightweight is stacked but is RDA, McGregor, Khalib, Ferguson and Diaz better than Lawler, Macdonald, Condit, GSP (possibly) and Diaz

I think 155

WW oder LW.

RDA, Pettis, Cerrone, Bendo (before he left), Edgar (legit LW still IMO), Gilbert and Eddie are all monsters and could be champ.

And even the rest is crazy. Like Barboza, Olivera and Co.

welterweight or LW. I think the guys at the top are better at WW, but LW goes a lot deeper in terms of talent

I think probably lightweight but WW is def 1 or 2
Certainly WW is more competitive and exciting at the most elite level. Im not sure if it is just Lawler facilitating the most exciting fights ever or it being more competitive but WW def has the most incredible wars (throw in Brown, Maia, Gunni, Magny, Lombard, Gastelum, Woodley Ellenberger, Stun Gun, Einstein, La Flare, Larkin, Cote, masvidal, Koreshkov, Story, Tarec, Means and even Cerrone now). It is just incredibly stacked, kinda ridiculous tbh and I can see any number of those guys beating any of the other guys. A guy like Tumenov could totally beat Lawler or someone else at the peak; such interesting stylistic match ups.

Champion : Conor McGregor
1 Jose Aldo

2 Frankie Edgar

3 Chad Mendes

4 Max Holloway

5 Ricardo Lamas

best lookin champ plus top 5

It's right up there with LW.

I've always considered WW to be the most populated because of the average size of Americans. If we were to consider the rest of the world, probably LW would be the most populated.

Cerrone is at 170 now, might go between two divisions. And, you forgot the best LW by far; The Eagle. Edgar also might go to 135 before he goes to 155 and Gil is done and likely Pettis too at the highest levels. I wouldn't be surprised if Aldo goes up in weight either, with the new IV ban. Also wouldn't be surprised if more 45'ers pulled a Dustin/Conor and went up. TBH, I'd just rather dudes fight near walking weight than cutting 20% of their body weight in 48 hours; shit is absurd and dangerous.

155 is stacked but I dont see a number of those guys beating RDA or Khabib. Conor will shake up the division for sure but it could turn out like 205 with rotating challengers, markedly better than the field, with RDA, Khabib and possibly Conor. Khabib has just thrashed everyone he has faced, including RDA, and I think people have Alzheimers in regards to remembering how much better he is than everyone else. Guys like duffy, diaz and poirier are great but khabib would smash the shit out of them, just like he did to rda.

WW by far... Light weight has who? It's only interesting now Conor has moved up... Otherwise they would be having RDA fight Eddie... Bendo gone, Pettis has turned out to be a dud, cowboy had moved up, Khabib is forever injured... What's left? Tony Ferguson and that's about it

Khabib is like Cain before he got manhandled by Werdum. He was supposed to beat everyone but couldn't stay healthy. We'll see how he will do after coming back.

And I disagree with Pettis being down at the highest level. The same with Gil. Gil just had an ultra close fight with Eddie how happened to beat Pettis. I think anyone of them could win on any given day. Even against RDA.

WW is for sure the deepest division. Lawler, Condit, Rory, Wonderboy, Hendricks, Woodley, Brown...Etc. Murderers row.

no featherweight and lightweight are better
