So I was reading an article on the front page about fights added to the Liverpool card:
http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Da...o-Octagon-at-UFC-Fight-Night-Liverpool-135211

David Teymur is welcoming South African newcomer Don Madge to the Octagon.

As I was checking out New Guy on Fight Finder, I noticed that he is 7-3-1, with all 3 of his losses coming against the same fighter, Leon Mynhardt.

Mynhardt is 15-10 and appears to be a journeyman. Doesn't bode well for New Guy's chances in the UFC imo. But who knows? Maybe losing three times to the same guy has made him unflappable.

Thoughts?

yeah but he is on a 4 fight win streak and won the EFC title since then

Joanna has lost 3 times to Shevchenko in Muay Thai and she went on to defend her belt 5 times in the UFC.

Yeah he might actually do well. I just thought it was odd that ALL of his professional losses were to the same guy.

Chael Sonnen lost 3 times to Jeremy Horn and then went on to be the undefeated and undisputed UFC MW champion.

And Ryo Chonan landed a flying scissor heal hook on Anderson Silva. Crazy stuff happens.

It could just be his kryptonite. He is hallman to his hughes

Marius Zaromskis is 0-2 against Che Mills and went on to be..... someone, for a while

When I saw it my first thought was Hallman-Hughes. But this is an extreme version of that.
more extreme? i mean, stupid thing to argue, but whatever...

i dont think we can base much off those losses

Hughes lost twice to Hallman, who lost twice to Trigg, who lost twice to Hughes, yet only one of them is considered and all-time great. Sometimes a fighter just has another fighters number. is normal.

Silly. Teymur should be fighting a fringe top ten guy by now. That win over Lando is alot bigger than people realize. The problem with stupid rankings is ranked guys dont want to fight guys ranked lower than them, as they will lose their Reebok money, so what happens is everyone is ducking everyone and no relevant fights get made.

Their fights were the main event on 2 of the 3 cards so I guess there aren't a lot of fighters in SA or they're quite good for SA.

Mynhardt winning by ko, by decision and by guillotine suggests he wasn't just better at one thing too but it was 3 years ago and the 'Magic Man' is on a 4 fight winning streak so... I guess that ends when he fights Taymur.
