Preface: I've tried to search but all that I could find were training logs and weird threads in the heavyweights.

I noticed that the equipment & gear section does not have links to good sites that sell weightlifting shoes. I also noticed that there is not a lot of information on the sizing of them. (Foz did a thread awhile back where he had people post their chuck shoe size and their weightlifting shoe/size.) I was thinking it would be a good idea to aggregate all of these things into a sticky. Mostly because I am in the market for weightlifting shoes but can't seem to find anything my size.

What are some websites to get my started?

    Shoes I'm looking at:
Adidas Ironwork II (yes i know they are impossible to find)
    Adidas Adistar
    Nike Romalero
    Rouge Do-Win
    Vs
    Pendlay

Here's the thread you mentioned. And it was started by Fozzy, not Zop....unless there's another, similar thread that was started by Zop.

    http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f13/question-those-who-went-chuck-taylor-into-weight-oly-shoes-967261/

And this is the website I bought my shoes off of: Men's Shoes, Sneakers, & Athletic Shoes. Find at SHOEBACCA.com. Unfortunately, right now they only have adistars.

Also, there's: Dynamic Fitness, if you click on closeout shoes, you'll see they have Ironwork IIs in mens sizes 4.0 and 13.5...so if there are any midgets, or bigfoots, jump on this chance.

These Risto's seem to get good reviews. I had my heart set on the Ironwork III's but the Ristos seem pretty comparable with a lower price tag

Chucks work fine, it's just that I high-bar squat and my ankle flexibility is really the limiting factor out of the hole.

I've heard a lot of good things about Ristos. I ordered my Stephan Botevs from them and they were great people to work with.

Also, Nike Romaleros are damn near impossible to find.

Check out the nike thread a few links below this one. The last page has a link to the Romaleros. I was thinking about picking them up before they disappear.

I didn't even see that. That is pretty sweet. I looked for a pair of Romaleos while I was searching for Olympic lifting shoes. They are really pricey though. My coach has a pair and I tried them once and they are nice.

You will not find WL shoes at Foot Locker.

    These aren't sneakers.

Nike.com doesn't sell the Romaleos anymore and hasn't since 2008.

Adidas.com didn't have the Adistars last time I looked either. You have to use a distributor. I remember calling Adidas last time to buy them and that's what customer service told me.

I generally wear a 10 or 10.5 running/crosstrainer, and I bought a 10 for my Adistars. They fit just fine.

I going to throw this out there and hopefully not get flamed, but I've been using Nike Free Pluses for lifting for about 6 weeks now and I don't think I've felt more comfy in the weight room. They are not weight lifting shoes, but they feel like a nice compromise between conventional shoes and vibrams.

From another thread, I posted this.

    If you're looking specifically for AdiStars, check out the following;

If you live in the states, you can order from here. I've heard they're good. Dynamic Fitness

If you're from Canada, you can order from here. The British Columbia Weightlifting Association. This is where I ordered from, and Guy Greavette was very helpful throughout the process.

IF you want more of a variety, good information can be found here Weightlifting Shoes: What they are, why you need them, and where to get them - Bodybuilding.com Forums

Nike Frees were designed (stolen from Reebok) to mimic free motion with a bit of cushioning. I see nothing wrong with that. I just wouldn't want to squat or deadlift or olympic lift in them.

I remember you posting that right after I ordered my Do-Wins.

Those Power Perfect IIs look sexy too.

I have a pair of Rogue Do-Wins as well as Chucks. Sizing on the rogue website is fairly accurate. My chucks are 11s and the do-wins size 12. It's a smaller heel than the addidas by a fair margin (~3/4'')

My girlie got them for me off the rogue website, from what I can gather they have exceptional customer service. Great shoes.

They are sexy. I was contemplating getting them instead of the AdiStars, but I think Guy has them going for 149, compared to 119 at Dynamic Fitness. So I just went with the AdiStars, same price as DF minus the border costs. Can't complain though, the AdiStars are pretty snazzy too. The wooden wedge is awesome.
