Hey guys,

I'm just wondering something really quickly... I currently weight 220 and am about 6'2" on a good day and I don't think I could hold a candle to the calibre of guys i'd be facing in grappling comps and mma fights... everybody I seem to see on here is 6 foot and 180 or something... it's getting sorta discouraging to know that I have about 20 lbs of fat to lose in order to compete... heck, maybe i'm just looking for a bit of a pep talk to remind myself that it's worth the next year or two to get into the shape that I want... any input would be amazing..

get used to being short dude, grappling comps that can definitely be an advantage and it isnt all bad in mma either. you should be stronger than a taller and skinnier opponent at that weight though, so there is never an excuse for too much excess body fat.

6'2" is short? Lets hear it for the public education system...

Dragonfire, Get your ass to a comp. It's amazing what you can do when you aren't affraid to try. Good luck

What does your diet and training currently look like?
