Should UFC Stop The Weight Cutting ?
Yes Or No, Why & How ?
No. JUst make it strickter so mfs cant cut 30 pounds in fight week lol
I wish my gf could cut weight.
I prefer mine a "little bit chubby" !
Yeah, they should at least try to make a system that makes it hard/impossible to cut a lot of weight, so fighters are closer to each other's weight come fight night. Also make it 155, 165, 175, 185. So it's easier for the fighters who now kind of fall in between, to fit in at the right division.
Limit weight cutting, encourage more height cut.
Meh, weight cutting is a big part of the sport. I think it should stay.
Come up with a way, offer up some alternative, or stfu.
Every way that supposedly limits weight cutting is either A) even more dangerous and B) will result in more fights being pulled. Or C) both.
prove me wrong.
He isn't fat, he is just cultivating mass before its time to harvest.
The best way is to stop it completely!
And create more weight categories
per 10lbs/5kg, so that the fighters have the option to choose the "real" category they want to participate in!
Well said for a Double Yellow Card !
Sorry, my bad !
That's the problem. I think they should go ahead, the same way high level judo and wrestling do it: very safe because it involves regular weigh-ins over several months and then a weigh-in the day of the competition. However, as you say it results in more fights being pulled because if you break the rules you're out (can't fight even at a higher weight). I personally think it's worth it (its the safest system in terms of dehydration) and most wrestling and judo competitors say it works well after you get used to it -- you basically simply maintain fight weight during the whole competition season. However a lot of people such as yourself (and I suspect the promoters for obvious reasons) disagree because of missed fights.
I suspect that after a couple of years there'll no longer be many fighters missing weight for the same reason its rare in judo and wrestling -- competitors learn that the organizations are serious and will adjust their weight classes and routines accordingly. But there will be a transition period with a lot of missed fights.
However, the weigh-in rules are set by state commissions, not the UFC, so its up to them. I doubt they care much either way, though if someone dies cutting weight they might implement something like that, just as college wrestling did.
Fighters should be able to configure their body to their likings.
I vote Yes.
weight cut is not good for the sport
If the fighter do this right, he will came much bigger than his opponent, which makes the fight unfair
If he do wrong, he will almost die
If both them do this right, they will come at sime size, making weight cut a waste of time
Weight cut= shit Fighters should fight at their own weight classes, no way an adult man weight something like 125lb.
Word chubby is very suspicious today. Absolute landwhales are calling themselves "chubby" nowadays
I don't care what they do but NO ADDITIONAL WEIGHT CLASSES. Putting together top fights is hard as it is, the last thing is more chances for the fighters to dodge/handpick opponents.
Stfu means sometimes think first you. Just to clarify.
Sorry my bad!
