I completely disagree. Silva - Weidman 3 is the only fight of any consequence that makes perfect sense for both fighters.
Silva gets a chance at redemption to avenge two flukey losses, and would likely be the favorite to win - can you say that about any other known MW/LHW in the UFC he could face? It isn't a complete joke like fighting McGregor or Pettis. Sure Weidman has declined, but so has Silva, and I'm sure Silva won't put an asterisk next to the win.
Weidman gets a chance to be relevant again, and get a payday (maybe). He has a real chance to beat Silva again for a 3rd time, what other known MW/LHW can you predict him to beat really? Rather than fighting a complete unknown / possibly upcoming prospect and being fed to the dogs, Weidman can go out with some semblance of a win that historically matters.
That would be my proposal and then Dana would probably just put on a burger king hat and call me gay or something, more or less.
