Recently, Silva's manager, Ed Soares, commented that Cung Le would make for a better next contender than Weidman. "The All-American" discussed this statement with*MMAjunkie.com*over the weekend.

"I mean, I guess if I was (Silva), I'd rather fight (Le), too," Weidman said. "No disrespect to Cung Le, but that's a good match up for him. I think if Dana White wants (the fight) to happen and the UFC wants to make it happen, it'll happen. But it's a little different with Anderson - him being who he is."

Le, no matter how good those strikes maybe, still Andy is on another level. That's a good match up for him because it will only show his dominance in striking. You put a guy there who has a known striking pedigree but still IMO nobody is better than Anderson in terms of striking in the ENTIRE UFC roster or maybe in MMA.

+ Everybody knows that a guy with a dangerous grappling skills is the only exciting fight for AS.

Le is more of a threat to Silva than Weidman is. Le has a puncher's chance at least.

no, wait!
Weidman is complaining about Silva fighting WHILE HE IS INJURED???

Makes a lot of sense if you don't think about it...

Wait, I think it's alright for anyone in any position to call bs on Silva for fighting Cung. There are at least five better options. Has Silva called out Cung?

Weidman knows a lot about picking easy fights.

He only wants the big paycheck fight or fights against the current most overrated fighter in the top 10: Maia, Munoz and Boetsch.

The difference is that with Silva that is only negotiation tatics, and he eventually fights who is in line. With Weidman that's for real.

I rather watch SIlvs vs Le than Silva waste another cocky wrestler like Weidman

take your number chris

Yes... reverse psychology will make him fight me... *rubs hands like fly*

I don't think it's the fact of him taking another fight, I think it's the fact on who he's possibly going to fight. Idk if Weidman would be complaining if Anderson was to fight another top 5 guy like Vitor, but Cung Le????? A guy who lost to an old way past his prime Wanderlei Silva not too long ago???

Nope.
His management just said the above (that Kung would be a higher profile fight than Weidman).

Dana said there are several options in the works, but nothing 100% yet

I wouldn't be too upset if Silva-Le actually happened seeing that I'm a big Le fan. A title shot is always exciting. But another part of me says that Le is pretty outclassed, and I don't want to see one of my favs destroyed in the Octagon.

Weidman need to shut up and keep working on his ranking
He hasn't really build a name for himself yet
If Hendericks is not getting a shot yet, I am certain Weidman is not getting his until 3 fights later

Chris and Hendricks should have a butthurt-off.

Well that's true too. But still bs to take if he decides to.

Cung Le is an amazing striker but he doesn't have an iron chin to take Anderson's power. I think Silva will eat him for breakfast and I'm a HUGE Cung Le fan!

WAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. No one cares about you weidman. deal wid it. you've beaten nobody and ducked Belfort. Go away

LOL the irony about this is that Le's last 2 wins ( franklin, cote ) could be considered better than Weidmens (maia, munoz )
