People always say weed doesn't help or hurt during training or fighting but this study says it does.

cannabis helps to regulate almost every system in our body. it is also a pain reducer. should it be classifies as a PED. not too likely, since anandamide and 2AG are naturally produced inside our body.

this needs to be merged with the other thread

That's not really enough data to draw meaningful conclusions, but I can definitely see how it would have some performance benefits (it could also have drawbacks, as well). Of course, it is already banned by WADA in comp. Banning it out of comp seems like a stretch to me.

I could just as easily use a treadmill for 15 minutes, eat a Big Mac and use the treadmill a few seconds longer, then claim that the burger made me perform better.

Fact is, marijuana slows reaction time, physically and mentally.

Only because you're super focused on stuff you normally woudn't need to focus on. You think about how regulated your breathing is when ur high for example, but that's only because when your not, you're smart enough to do that without having to focus on it. Like when you get high and create the best song ever, then you come down and realise you've spend the last two hours clanging forks together.

Pot only makes you THINK you're focused.

Meh, not too impressed with the study. Being able to run for 30 seconds longer isn't really that conclusive anyway I think. And the fact that it gets you "smarter" also sounds like bullshit. I mean caffeine will get you hyped up and help you if you're tired while training, is that also a PED?

Findings that show the medicinal benefits of Marijuana is one thing (of which there are plenty) but categorizing it as a PED alongside Human Growth Hormone, Steroids, etc, is a real stretch to say the least.
