Weakest puncher of all time who was still considered a contender?

Forrest Griffin...and he even won the title!

Chael P Sonnen

As others have said, Shields and Maia.

Royce might be the winner for all time. Or some other pure grappler like Mark Schultz.

In modern MMA it has to be Ben Askren.

The number of people saying Maia is flabbergasting. Dude hits hard (didn't Chael say Maia hit him the hardest of anyone?), and he beat lots of people on his feet before securing a takedown. It was his bread and butter actually; force them against the fence with his standup pressure, hurt them a little, and then get the takedown.

Less in the last few years when he has only spammed single legs, so maybe it's only new MMA fans saying Maia.

Ufc caliber right there.

Sergio Pettis is probably up there, at least in the top-15. A lifelong striker, 9 UFC wins, all decisions; 20 wins overall, only 3 by KO/TKO, two of them by head kick.

I know he's a FLW but still. Most top FLWs still score an occasional knockout here and there.
