We should all agree that wrestling is the most boring part of any fight.

Wrestling isn't fighting, its what you do when youre losing a fight.

See Conor vs Nate 1

New to mma? Wrestling adds another level and is an ancient form of human combat in many cultures. Even the threat of a takedown has an impact on the tempo of a fight. mma is the most complete form of human combat competition. Rather than modifying mma to protect certain people, how about they just rise to the occasion and improve their deficiencies.

People who are fans of strikers that have questionable ground skills always seem to hate wrestlers and yet would cheer their asses off if their boy was coming up short on the feet and managed to score a takedown.

All this said, I was a kickboxer an boxer when I was a kid and can appreciate mma for what it is. If I did mma and was getting wrestle fucked, I would choose to work on my ground game rather than cry.

I strongly disagree but to each his own in terms of what they find boring. Some take just laying on someone as an example of wrestling and it's not. I as much as anyone love a good back and forth brawl. But MMA includes all of the fight forms and it becomes intriguing to see some of these different forms of fighting matched up.

Bob Arum would think it is the most exciting part of the fight for the typical skinhead homosexual MMA fans.
Plenty of skins are anti racist ie Minneapolis Baldies.

Because it just is.

I'm not talking about BJJ.

99% of fans groan when a fight goes to the ground and the fighter isn't a BJJ specialist because we all know nothing exciting is gonna happen.

Spoken like a guy who never had the sack to step to the line. Maybe knitting is more for you.

I disagree. I think that the fact a fight can go anywhere is what makes MMA so exciting

Wrestling's great. Unsuccessful wrestling wear they stay on the cage the whole time and don't get takedowns are boring.
Just like striking. Striking matches where the fighters don't land a lot are boring too.

Ya know, w/o a TD threat, there be a LOT less finishes with strikes.......so yea, keep the wrestling.

If this was true mma wouldn't be popular. I think what you mean is that 99% of casuals find wrestling boring.

Sorry but I find khabib
Pinning someone down and beating the dog shit out of them more entertaining
Then two Skilled Strikers dancing with each other.

I have a pretty decent tolerance for wrestling unless it's pure LnP or wall & stall for rounds on end without any attempts to really finish the fight or at least improve one's position. In general, though? I love grappling as long as it's even remotely active. I was actually somewhat disappointed that Colby and Usman didn't wrestle at all.

I've seen enough purely stand-up fights between two powerful counter-strikers where they circle the Octagon for 5 rounds staring at each other to know that the problem with boring fights can't be laid at the feet of grappling. Sometimes they just happen. That's MMA.

It really depends... DC slamming people is a lot of fun to me. In general aggressive grapplers are fun to watch and grapplers who are just exploiting the rules and winning by control instead of damage or subs will be boring.

Depends.
Matt Lindland KO'ing himself during a takedown was pretty neat.

Yes but it depends on the fighter. Khabib is interesting to watch as is Gillespie

Yeah I bet a lot of things go unnoticed to you. That's why you make stupid threads.

There are plenty of stupid threads on page 1.

Why this thread has you so triggered is beyond me...I guess youre one of those ankle grabbing, crotch sniffers I'm talking about.

THANK GOD Pete Williams decapitated Coleman at UFC 17 !

THANK GOD Baas Rutten got the decision over Randleman at UFC 20 !

If you think Frankie Edgar vs Tyson Griffin was boring mma isn’t the sport for you.
