We must learn sometimes ugly striking is effective

He looks like Juliana Pena rushing Nunes

And yet he is ranked #2 in the world and was KSW champion

Sometimes ugly striking works. It don’t have to be pretty to be effective

DDP is the Drunken Master!!!

The Awkward King!!!
It's affective untill there athleticism dwindles and there chin become affected

Especially if you have one punch KO power

Yeah just look at Jon Jones. Been at the top forever and his striking is ugly as hell. Atleast DDP got KO power

Actually didn't look that ugly last night.
Didn't look ugly at all other than having a weird lower body with knocked kneed. Come to think of it, Pena's legs are like.thag too. Lol

Unconventional strikers like him with that off beat rhythm are tough to read. He's going to give Izzy some problems because of this. Plus he is a strong dude and will definitely have the significant strength advantage

You would think he was Jardine by the way people talk about DDP here. He's aggressive and doesn't maintain technical striking at all times, but something has to be said about the way he implements his game. I still believe Nunes lost that fight to Pena because it was something mental rather than Pena's striking.

DDP lost the complete striking till the end, but overthrowing his jab totally did work out for him.
He was good in the grappling department though.

I would like to know his fight night weight (without hating) it has to be super high.

He was doing fine in the striking. Plenty of successful fighters use the karate blitz. Whittaker being one. Machida was famous for it. Jiri does it often. Just because it's not traditional boxing doesn't mean it's not effective.

It's true, I mean Jan outstruck izzy in stretches of their fight.

DDP's unorthodox style has served him well until now, but there are a lot of opportunities that he's presenting, and someone will make him pay.

According to himself, he weighs 210lbs, sometimes a few pounds heavier, on fight night. He said it in an interview after the Till fight.

Chael has talked about this. I can’t remember the fighter or the prompt that led to the discussion but it’s true. If you land, it’s effective.
