Some may say that Ronda was a Hype train but I disagree to be frankly honest hate Ronda as much as you want but she was a legit champ and defended that title for 6-times so she dosen't meet the hype-train criteria

Weidmann, Conor, Hector Lombard, Overeem, Lesnar, Kimbo slice, TJ, and Rashad

I feel like these were some sort of legit hype-trains that got derailed and the worst imo was Conor McGregor followed by Sugar' Rashad, Lesnar, and Kimbo Slice bc these were devastating derailments and 3rd place goes to ''The Chris''.

number 4 imo is none other then when Bigfoot Silva slayed Alistair Overeem followed by when the barbarian derailed Hector Lombards hype-train.

While TJ was a minor derailment.

Sage and PVZ don't even meet the criteria of being a hype-train since they don't even have alot of fights under there belt so they get sparred and also they are very young and just at the beginning of there careers

Brock Lesnar, the proclaimed Baddest Man on the Planet, getting thoroughly beat down in Brocktober.

I would argue none of those are hype trains because besides Brock, all have had long credible mma careers. However, Sage and PVZ were getting all the attention in the world solely based on their looks, before accomplishing anything. I guess it depends on your definition of hype train.

I dont consider someone that beats top 10 in the world talent a hypetrain. Its hard for anyone in the UFC to be a hype train for very long if they aren't legit.

If you want a good example of a MMA hype train I think someone like Michael Venom Page would qualify.

You have a loose definition of 'hype train'

U can tell me about the 6 title defences of Ronda all day long...but I believe that Ronda Rousey was thw biggest hype train derail in the UFC...i say this because people believed she was a one trick pony and not a all rounded fighters and she prooved it against holly...just look at the aftermath....i have not seen any fighter face so much wrath from the mass after one loss...hype or no hype...
If we look at conor....he is getting a backlash as well....but it is difficult not to respect how he took the loss....
Sage and paige were fun as long as they lasted but it was too much too soon...

Wouldn't you qualify a 'hype-train derailment' by someone getting seriously outclassed and exposed? Ronda seems to fit that mold better than others on your list like Conor and Weidman. Not that I think Ronda isn't talented, but I get the feeling your thread is less about discussion and more about slinging some shit.

Weidmann, Conor, Hector Lombard, Overeem, Lesnar, Kimbo slice, TJ, and Rashad
I don't think Conor has been technically been derailed yet, he's still the champ at 145, but some of the wow factor is gone for sure, I don't think Kimbo had any real hype behind him, except for people that had no actual MMA knowledge, Weidmann's the only one you listed I really would say had ridiculous hype behind him that's been destroyed.

Kimbo was a gigantic hype-train and had millions of Youtube followers who thought he was the best thing ever created by god.

Conor was also a gigantic hype-train and that title win is a fluke against midgets

None of them are devastating.

Even the best should be allowed to lose once in a while.

Sometimes it's not your day.
Sometimes you get old.
Sometimes a particular style gives you trouble.
Sometimes you have a sore knee.
Sometimes the opponent does something completely unexpected in the blink of an eye.
Sometimes the ref or judges F you.
There are countless things that can go wrong in training and in the cage.

I don't care.
I love Kimbo anyway.
He stepped up, and he took what came. He took it like a man.

No one with a long running win streak at the upper echelon qualifies as a hype train. That term is used incorrectly often. If I were to pick one fighter with the biggest tumble, it would be Ronda. She was so dominant for so long, and to see her completely out gamed and exploited was something to behold. Her weaknesses were compiled into a perfect mix that made her look like a completely different fighter. Pretty insane to witness and quite amazing. Even those that saw Holly winning could not have likely predicted it to be that one-sided.

Kimbo was the definition of a hype train while all the others were legit so him.

To me, it's Ronda by a mile. She really benefitted from a weak division, and when she fought Holly, it was an epic beat down. Connor destroyed Aldo, and a bunch of others, but jumped up in weight too fast.
