I don't even watch WWE, but I am hoping he wins. The man is 37 years old. He is trying to be living proof that it's never too late to chase your dreams, even in a young man's game like MMA. He's a nice guy, a class act, and appears to be dedicating himself 100% to this pursuit. Win or lose, he deserves our respect. Maybe some of you young guys can't really understand this yet, but at 33 I can admire what he is doing.

Finally, if you want talk shit about him not deserving this fight, you are blaming the wrong guy. Sure, he doesn't deserve it based on merit. He has no fights. But you should blame the fans and not him, because the UFC is just giving the fans the fights they want. Don't hate the player, hate the game. CM Punk is just playing the game to chase a dream.

Good luck, man.

I respect anybody that makes tgat walk to the octogon.

Punk via sub in rd 1.

I've never seen him wrestle. I've seen a few snippets of some of his WWE skits or whatever, but since joining the MMA world, he does excellent interviews and such. I've really enjoyed his presence over the past two years.

The humility he's faced of being massively successful and popular and starting anew and facing the excessive, unrelenting criticism... there are few people in this world that could do what he is doing right now.

My understanding is he was at the top of the wrestling world. To come over here with 0-0 and give it a shot on the big stage when everyone is against him and wants to see him dismantled, his ability to deal with all of it is just incredible. I don't know how anyone could be against him at this point. Super humble, determined, and an inspiration to anyone.

Sorry he hasn't earned it yet. At least from me.

We all should be Lando Vannata fans. #GroovyLando #GOAT

I have total respect for him for actually stepping into the ring (assuming he does not pull out). It is interesting to see how he does after training with a top camp.

i believe in fair title shots and a move to legitimize the sport and as far as that goes cm punk is just another step in the wrong direction.
that said, win or lose i just want to watch professional fighting and i hope he's a talented fighter or this fight is going to be weak.

He seems like a nice guy and respects the sport a lot. Hes fighting another unknown can. I hope Punk can win

No, don't tell me who to be a fan of.

He's a spoiled celebrity getting a very set-up amateur bout guised as a "Pro" fight in the largest stage with a guy who is essentially an amateur fighter who fought a reporter.

If he was earnestly chasing dreams he'd endure the regionals like everyone else or take on an actual pro fighter. He'll get paid and then poor Gall will be in way over his head too soon. CM will prolly ruin his carrer cuz Gall should be in few amateur bouts first as soon as he beats Punk, UFC aint gonna coddle him.

CM just wants the spotlight instead of doing it the proper way ....because if he fought in Regionals it wouldn't get any press like Bautista's MMA fight... so he had to go to the top and do a million interviews, series and promos.

It's just silly and makes the sport look bad.

Lol nah I'm not a fan of 37-year olds with Pepsi cola tattoos and guys who get so butthurt by criticism they get into little Twitter wars with fans.

Rich Franklin or Shane Carwin or a million other fighters actually followed their dreams by training and building themselves up through hard work after having day jobs to fighting in title fights in the UFC.

Hell even Brock Lesnar actually fought legit competition, not some no-name whose 1-0.

Punk is a multi-millionaire who just decided to do this on a whim. It's lame, he sucks, and he's going to get destroyed.

I might agree with you if he were fighting on a KOTC pay-per-view vs a UFC show for his debut.

God some of you really need to lighten up. Your personal vendettas and hatred are unhealthy...

Props and respect to him for taking on a huge mountain and climbing that bitch!

There's a little CM Punk in all of us.
