WBA Light Flyweight (Super) bout between Hiroto Kyoguchi and Thanongsak Simsri just got cancelled after Hiroto and his trainer tested positive for COVID. The bout was going to air free on Hiroto's YouTube channel, so this is a bummer.

But this is a really bad news for Japanese boxing scene. This bout was supposed to be a launch pad for big NYE events, poor Thanongsak got quarantined in his hotel room for 14 days and...of course it is the champion that got infected.

The whole event got cancelled, suck for the promoter, fighters, fans, and 20-year-old Thanongsak was reported to be crying after hearing the news. The Thai's family really needed his fight purse, because they were hit really badly by COVID.

damn that sucks, although tbh I'm kinda glad Simsrsi isn't fighting Kyoguchi. Simsri seems like a good prospect and I think this was just too early.

I hope Kyoguchi is ok, I really wouldn't want to see COVID fuck up his cardio in the long term.
