See this kid with all this reach and height and doesnt know how to use it

He's gonna be more punch drunk then Chuck if he doesnt upgrade his deffence and learn to use his reach.
 
He used it in the last round against Miocic and it made a big difference.
 
He's gonna be in serious trouble. He got brutally KOd more than a few times and he takes a shit load of punishment even in fights that he wins.

Yeah struve needs to tune up that striking defense badly.

I agree, I thought he was going to turn the corner in that fight.

I think he should take some time off. I am sure people will bring up his age and the fact that he isn't old, but none of that matters. All that matters is the number of fights you have and the damage you have accumulated. Murilo Rua is a guy that should have stepped out in his mid 20s because of the damage he took.
 
I wonder if it could be a problem that it's hard to find trainers that can teach him how to properly exploit it? How many other people have been in a position to enjoy such a reach advantage.
 
Tall guys take time to peak, just like Semmy Schilt.

Struve is still young.
 
Don't know HOW I missed that fight but that Travis Browne KO is hilarious.

Jumped straight up and clobbered the hell out of him coming in....good stuff.
 
I don't know if I have ever seen a guy that tall who is that easy to hit.

He needs to study some Semmy Schilt footage.
 
dude is exciting as hell to watch, im sick and tired of sherdoggers shitting on him. He was by far the most active HW on th roster and yeah he got creamed 4 times but he won 8 or 9 other fights. Hes not a can. Struve is a nice kid with a HUGE heart and always puts on a show.
 
very true, TS. when i watch struve fight, i usually enjoy his fights first off, second off i can't stand watching the beatings this guy usually takes. his striking defense is horrible, doesn't know how to use his reach for the life of him, and on top of all that he does seem to be getting better with each fight. the only problem with this way of evolving into a better Mixed martial artist is the broken jaw, the concussions, and the wear and tear he puts himself threw. i wouldn't suggest switching camps yet but if struve can't get better boxing partners maybe he shud move to another camp..... Wolfslar acadmey maybe
 
Wait, what? I thought reach was an insurmountable advantage. You mean Jon Jones is NOT cheating?
 
Yes he has 0 fight iq,his favourite techniques seem to be the flying knee and uppercut,in his fight with hunt he never once tried to take hunt down even though he had managed to get a few sweeps and hit hunt with some ground and pound.

The rare time he uses his jab it seems really effective,hate to say it but go to jacksons and see if they can teach him to use it like they have taught jones
 
I feel guilty watching him fight. Like I'm watching something that should be illegal

ummm...noone is saying he's a can. they're saying he needs to improve his striking defense
