Watching someone else watch something is the lowest form of entertainment

Reaction videos on youtube are an example.
Or shorts where the poster posts someone else's content with his/her face in the corner with no added input.

It's so fucking lazy. It's the laziest form of content and I refuse to give these people clicks because they're just using someone else's work.

Can you think of a lower form of entertainment than this?
Watching someone else play video games

Watching someone else play video games
I admit used to do this when I used to play video games haha. I watched one guy who always plays the games in the most fucked up way possible and exploits the hell out of bugs. I'm pretty sure the devs sent him the games on purpose so he can test the bugs out for them. But it was funny at the time but now I completely lost interest in video games.

What's the difference with someone at your home watching a movie that you've seen and your watching this person react to that movie?

Isn't that the same thing?
Do people do this? I'm imagining someone invite their friend over, put on a movie, then sit facing that person (instead of the screen) and just stare at that person lol.

I agree TS, those are scum of the earth. They give those ppl views and money.
Another version of this that is popular nowadays is "content creators" playing a video that is not theirs and talking over the video to tell the audience what is happening in the video. This is also extremely lazy. I refuse to post examples and give them more views.

I watched a snail crawl on my hosta leaf the other day, and that was vastly superior to the videos you mentioned sir.

Yeah, that's like watching someone else play sports. What loser would do that?
I actually don't understand watching sports to a large degree. I can see that the athleticism on display is quite impressive and not possible for the average person. I guess that's one reason people watch sports.

I only watched sports that I personally practice so I can learn from the best practitioners of my sport. I watch boxing now for sentimental reasons because I used to box, but it does feel like a waste of time since I don't box anymore.

Yeah, and let's adding hunting and fishing while we're at it. After all, they're also sometimes practiced competitively, as sports, or even for recreation. Checks all the boxes. What loser would want to watch someone applying millenia-old survivalist skills like that? Couldn't possibly be anything of value to learn from watching people who are elite at a skillset perform it.

It's definitely a higher form of entertainment to watch a group of people pretend to be make-believe human beings in a make-believe setting dealing with make-believe conflicts and make-believe feelings.

well the thing is a lot of people can't afford PS5s or get them so it is the cultural equivalent to going to a friends house and watching them play a game you can't get. They also occupy the space formerly used by the loneliness pandemic.

but yeah they are opportunists to some extent. On another extent I also think those sorts of people are also the equivalent of the friend that gets everyone in the same room together.

I agree 95%. I will give exception for experts in their field reacting to other experts(musicians reacting to other musicians) as they have a grasp of the complexity of what's being executed.

Black people reacting to Journey songs? Go fuck yourself.
