Watching and ranking every Bond: No time to die (review)

I've only seen the Craig ones except the new one and parts of the brosnon ones.

I recently watched Dr. No. It was decent but very of its time. I know Russia with love is supposed to be good so I'll watch that. But I think I'd rather just watch the ones you guys recommend or at least the best ones for each actor.

I guess what I'm really asking is which ones can I skip?
goldeneye, license to kill

I think they're all worth watching up to Goldeneye. Then you can skip all of the other Brosnans and watch Casino Royale and Skyfall.

I suppose Spectre might be worth it for the boardroom scene and Tomorrow Never Dies for Dr. Kaufman...

I loved CR, one of my favorite movies, and liked skyfall. QOS i instantly forgot after seeing it.

Spectre had potential but something about it came off as bland and uninviting. And not saying this is fair because I've not seen the original blofeld but all I could see was dr. Evil.

I'm currently working my way through ALL of Daniel Craig's Bond films. (well..there's only 5).

doing them in order.
Yesterday I watched Casino Royale. Was pretty good.
I've seen all these movies before, years ago, but I like Daniel Craig's version of Bond a lot and decided to re-watch all his previous 4 Bond movies and then finish off wih No Time to Die at the cinema I guess.

Overall, Skyfall is amazing. The opening title sequence is a f**king work of art in itself.

By the way .....'Layer Cake' (a UK gangster movie, with Daniel Craig) is pretty good. Recommend it.

Dr No
From Russia with Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
On Her Majesty Secret Service
The Living day lights
Licence to Kill
Golden Eye
Tomorrow Never Dies
The World is not Enough
Casino Royale
Quantum of Solace
Skyfall
Spectre

I am not a fan of any of the Roger Moore ones they are the worst in the series all 7 and make a mockery of book Bond although some have hot bond girls and interesting plots. I also think Die another day is terrible as is Tomorrow Never Dies but I inclused tomorrow never dies because the plot and some of it is good.

The 2 Dalton films especially Licence to kill feels more assassian purely and a Narco film but it has a darkness that is unique. Connerys Diamonds are Forever I did not enjoy, long, slow, corny.
World is not enough is awful as well. But worth is just for Sophia Marceau. I have a soft spot for Die Another Day, I just close my eyes during the tsunami surfing scene and pretend it doesn’t happen.

Dalton's Bond is so underrated its painful. He's closer to the actual Ian Fleming character than any other Bond, and he still manages to get some humor in amidst all the angst and darkness. He's second only to Connery imho.

Quantum of Solace is considerably the worst of the bunch because of the writers strike in Hollywood at that time, makes you consider how bad films can get when writing and editing aren't on point.

License to Kill was the first Bond Flick I ever saw so that was the tone I was sued too , then Brosnan's felt like Joel Schumakers productions, and that's not a good thing.

Yeah maybe "awesome" was a bit much. It's been awhile since I've seen either of them.

You probably have rise colored eyes if you saw it at a younger age , but The Dalton Flicks to me were solid

yes I agree, I have read that Quantum of Solace was ...lacking.
Also someone died during the making of that movie. Stuntman I think. Always gonna taint the production crew and actors for sure when that happens. Unfortunate, but it's the reality of doing dangerous work as a stuntman.

Somewhat off topic but related to stuntman. I like when Danny Trejo Called out Tom Crusie for not using stuntmen more or not giving them enough credit.
