washing blood out

so i knew it was bound to happen, but i got blood in my fairly new gi.:icon_evil:icon_cry2

how do you guys wash out the blood?

I pre-treat it with a little detergent and wash it right away. Always comes right off the gi.

thanks... i rubbed in some oxyclean im really trying to get the blood out. the gi sleeve is the only you can really tell there was blood there

Peroxide and then oxy(clean/action/etc).

the easiest way to get blood out of anything and EVERYTHING -

soak the fabric in ice cold water to break down the proteins in the blood. after a minute or so take a rag and start to rub it out. it will start coming out. once it does then take it out of the water and RUN cold water over it while dabbing and rubbing the clean part of the rag on it. within a few minutes, no blood.

man i guess im lucky, i have a white fuji a2 and have been rolling in it for a year. i've had that thing soaked with blood many times and all i do when i get home is throw it in the wash (within 30 mins of getting off the mat) i use arm&hammer detergent that has oxy clean in it. My is the same color as it was when new, maybe switch detergents?

Exept after some time the blood will look more like brown shit stains.
