It seems like all the double champs got their chance by luck and their prestige status is crippled. DC never won against Jones so he was never the true LHW champion. His HW win was legitimate, but his defence was against someone who told he isn't ready for a title fight and got a short notice. Conor never defended his FW or LW belt, and at LW never won against competition except against Alvarez, who was a champion for a whopping one fight. Nunes and Cyborg fought in a division that has no fighters. GSP made Bisping duck every legitimate contender so he could himself fight him and then vacate despite contract demanding a defense.

When are we going to see a true two division champion?

DC.

Beat the best LHW had to offer.

Beat the best HW champ in company history.

Not his fault Jon got himself disqualified. He still would be, if it weren't for his informing on others.

<DC-Champ><DC-Champ>

No, if you're constantly moving the goalposts, we're not gonna see a true two division champ.

IMO no, because they never go and defend the original belt

There have been a number of true two division champions as 'all' you need to do is to win both belts and then you are a true two division champion.
Coming up with other criteria for a 'true' two division champion is idiotic.

You are right honnestly. None of the recent "champ champ" have really dominated 2 weigh classes, even less at the same time. The other sherbros remind everyone about bj and couture, those are the closest of the true double champ imo...

This is accurate.

This is nonsense. Jones lost the belt due to him being a cheater. DC was the legitimate champion and defended the belt against all comers. DC is a true double champion.

Disagree. You aren't a double champion if you didn't adequately earn it. A new champion getting a shot at another belt is beyond stupid.

I seconded this.
No man has reigned in two divisions at the same time to be called "true double champ" as title says.

Wtf don't you get? Jones roided so DC didn't have to beat him to be the true LHW champ. Even so jones beat DC roided so those arn't even true wins along with who knows how many others jon roided for. Plus DC carries himself like a true champ so DC wins all around.

We've had plenty of 2 division champs but no double champ. So far they've all just made a permanent move up.

Amanda Nunes imo. She KO'd Cyborg (THE Cyborg) in the first round ffs...

Remember when DC cheated at the weigh ins by holding on to a towel? I guess he's a cheater too, and not a legit champ.
