I didn't catch the entire prelim or pay attention to every single detail of the main card, but was there any mention of Mike leaving ? I hadn't heard anything and was surprised that not even Rogan had wished him fair well during the end commentary...very odd and flat out disrespectful.

I didn't hear it, but apparently there was a brief mention of it during the last couple minutes
And it was just goldie saying thanks and goodbye to Joe and the booth guys apparently

He thanked some crew members during the credits saying they were family and "So long!".

No mention of it from anyone else, and only a vague mention from Goldie during the credits by himself at the very end. If you didn't know he was leaving, you wouldn't even know from what he said, which was just a 'love these guys, family for life' comment as he was reading the credits.

They should have briefly mentioned it a couple times during the night. Nothing big, but he deserved at least bit of recognition after being one of the voices of the UFC for so many years. Even if he was a goof, he no doubt put in a lot of work and hours into the company.

Maybe Goldberg wanted it that way? Who knows.

I didn't hear anything about Goldie living.
it did surprise me, but I disagree this was disrespectful. If anything, this was "professionalism".

I don't understand what did you expected. for them to stop all the fights and put a special of goldie ??
He did his job. he got paid....a lot. that's plenty respectful to me.

He was basically the Michael Jordan of UFC broadcasting....such a shame.

You don't have any common sense do you?

Oh, but I do.
you are thinking with your heart.
I am the one using common sense.

They shouldn't stop to make a party for Goldie.
He is not that important.

Look: If this was Dana, I would understand.
But think about it. They did nothing for the Fertitas, and they were the ones putting all the money!!

So no, I don't think they needed to do anything about it.
They kept it professional. That's good enough to me.

I thought it was classless and, again, shows the UFC employees how WME-IMG does business.

Goldie has been with the UFC for almost 20 years, they didn't need to throw hit a party - there is more than one spot of dead air during MMA broadcasts that they fill with inane chatter to hype fights that everyone is already hyped for (after all they bout the PPV). Two minutes at some point in the broadcast just to have Goldie acknowledge that it was his last broadcast and have Joe say "it was an honor calling fights with you"?

No sweat off of any a single persons back.

No need for a live on air party. But a least a good bye from the boss and/or Rogan or other people, or two minutes for him to say his goodbye. Any company do that.

Talk about being oblivious. I bet you're real fun at parties.

Anyone who puts 20 years into a company gets recognized. I don't care if you work at McDonald's, it's common courtesy and decency.

I hope it's big publicity stunt and they bring him back as a surprise. Doesn't seem likely though.

Ufc avoids any mention of any fighters outside of ufc, any other orgs, they're so fucking obvious about it that it's embarrassing.

They're like the dickhead Apple brand of mma.

Look, as I said, I was also expecting something at the end.
But they kept professional.
This is not a slap on Goldie's face.

Like I said, the fertitas were way more important and there was also no mention when they were gone.

If they paid him well and on time, it is far better than anything they could have done for him live.

I'm not strongly disagreeing with you.

I'm just saying that there's a middle ground in between a Goldberg tribute and no mention at all

Also the case for Godlie over the fertittas isn't importance, its that he was the voice of the vast majority of MMA fights in the Zuffa age. More than Rogan by a good deal. It's no unprofessional, this is kind of how broadcasting works.... unless you're a staple or the brand, in which case you get some mention or a send off.

Again. It's not really that it's unprofessional, it's just that all things considered plus context it's a little classless and a weird way to run a shop (considering the way they've let so many of their executives go this year, it's not surprising in the slightest).

Don't you understand that you know NOTHING about what they did for him?
Maybe they gave him a big farewell party in the back. Maybe they gave him a big bonus.
You have no clue!

WHat you are crying and fussing about is that they did not include YOU, and that's pathetic.
