Was the real reason Conor vs. Nate got pushed off of UFC 200 was to make room for Lesnar?

So Conor's down to rematch, Nate's down to rematch and then all of a sudden theirs contract disputes, not wanting to fulfil contract obligations such as promoting the fight, touring, and doing interviews and it gets canceled off of UFC 200. .....then recently it's announced that everything has been finalized and they are rematching at UFC 200.

And in the same breadth it's announced that Lesnar is fighting on the UFC 200 card.

So, perhaps they didn't have Lesnar signed at the time of the announcement for Diaz and McGregor rematching at UFC and then later Lesnar signs. As much as Conor is a draw, Lesnar is still the biggest draw the UFC has ever had, bigger than Conor and Ronda combined.

So, was the real reason Conor vs. Nate got moved to UFC 202 to make room for Lesnar and not all of the other B.S.?

they wouldn't have jones/dc on the card if conor/nate didn't get moved. so no. it owuld have just been

conor/nate2
lesnar/carwin or whoever
etc. etc.

why would they not want the 2 biggest available draws on the same card?

Don't think so, but looks like we now know why the baldfather was so calm about it and why he stood his ground on not putting him back on the card.

Nate wanted to get paid

Looks like it worked

100% no doubt in my mind.

Maybe though.

No. Remove the tinfoil.

Brock isn't a bigger draw than Conor and Ronda combined. He's likely not as big as either of them individually.

Please me where Conor or Ronda outsold Lesnar's ppvs.
Or we could skip ahead. We both know the PPV numbers. Consider all circumstances around each of the events, ie how hyped the event was, and who else was on each card. You have to look at the highs and lows of PPV buys. You have to look at media presence. You have to look at gate figures. I think Conor and Ronda are bigger.

Makes sense. When it comes to must-see priority the UFC pecking order goes something like this:

Fedor

Bork

Ronda
GSP

Nate

Canor

Exactly.

The UFC hyped up Conor vs Aldo for a damn year, had a world tour shit....Aldo gets injured, so it was almost a year of pure hype....Champion vs Champion, still couldn't out sell Lesnar.

Conor had the perfect opponent with Nate Diaz....Nate Diaz talked the perfect shit talking game...people were entertained....Conor lucked out to have such an opponent who talked that much shit, much better than RDA...Sold 1.5 million.

Brock is bigger...specially in the place that is mattered the most, America.

Why don't you think it?

Because having both Conor and Lesnar on a card would be massive, I think Dana and co. saw that they had a chance at lesnar which would mean big PPV numbers anyway so they decided to set a precedent instead while not sweating Conor being off the card and just putting him in a month later with Nate and cashing in big twice on 2 PPVs.

Getting Lesnar was a fuck you from the UFC to Conor. It was a you think you are the biggest draw? You're not and you need us more than we need you play.

But where it matters, ppv they aren't.

I think that Lesnar really is Conor's replacement as a fighter who generates a lot of interest. Maybe the UFC got second thoughts about having a non-title main event in the UFC 200. Lesnar will not be the main event.

Even if the UFC care only about the money, they can't think only about the short term. The belts and the titles are big part of the UFC brand. It might be bad for the long term profits to make it too obvious that the belts don't matter as much as the fighters' popularity.

Card was already stacked with 2 titles on the line.

Better to push Conor vs. Nate onto another card to make that a big card.
