According to sherdoggers, Pride FC fighters were a bunch of cans. But I was looking back at 2007 pound for pound rankings and notice most names were from Pride. So what's the verdict? I have always believed Pride FC sucked from what i've read on these boards. I think I have been duped.

    1) Anderson Silva (20-4-0)
    2) Quinton Jackson (29-6-0
    3) Fedor Emelianenko (26-1-0, 1 NC)
    4) Gilbert Melendez (13-0-0)
    5) Dan Henderson (22-6-0)
    6) Takanori Gomi (27-3-0, 1 NC)
    7) Shinya Aoki (11-2-0)
    8) Sean Sherk (33-3-0)
    9) Norifumi Yamamoto (16-1-0, 1 NC)
    10) Randy Couture (16-8-0)

???? I've seen quite a bit saying the opposite, just watch and enjoy MMA.

In 2006 it was common knowledge on sherdog that any of the top 10 pride Hws could come over and win the UfC title

    It was amazing.
Behind the scenes, it was propped up by a flimsy system of gum and popsicle sticks.

But the gods seemed keen to bless nearly every card with epic results. The bushido series (9 in particular) was exemplary.
32 in Vegas when they were close to the end, the card over-delivered in multiple bouts back to back.

Their success is a bit of an intangible

You've read on this board from sherdoggers that Pride FC sucked? Funny, I've read the opposite.
We must be reading the wrong fucking forums, post a few of those anti Pride FC hate threads by the way.
Every mother fucker has their opinion, that's pretty much what it comes down to. And hate usually comes down to not understanding, knowing, or living that era.

I'd say that the opinion "PRIDE sucked" is demonstrably wrong.
But then again, I'm a dick like that lol

You had to have watched it at the time. It was miles ahead of the UFC in terms of skill and overall entertainment.

no, sherdog was more PRIDE friendly than UFC, the trolling started when PRIDE fighters (passed prime) lost when they came over to the UFC. Even though honestly most did pretty good like Rampage, Shogun and Henderson. Man I miss when there two great MMA orgs so much!

    Nothing comes close to Pride.

Half of the UFC roster migrated to Pride FC back in 99' and on. It's crazy how much of a better show Pride was. It made watching UFC unbearable in the early 2000's. Buy an UFC.tv subscription and watch UFC from the beginning and then Pride FC in parallel and you'll see what i'm talking about.

It had some good fighters and some good fights, but other than that 90% of the roster wouldn't even get considered for the UFC, leading to cards full of horrible fights, can crushing and freak shows. Then there was the rampant steroid abuse, fixed fights, constant resets, Yakuza influence... The list goes on.

Pride was fun I was pumped after Lenne Hardt announcements!! The fights were amazing, UFC cuts fighters who lose, Pride cut fighters that were not entertaining.
