Was Losing to Brown a Blessing?

I remember Wonderboy being pumped and fast-tracked before Conor made it cool. Then he fought Brown and the hype went away. This allowed him to build his experience and up his grappling game. You think this helped him? He almost went the way of the Sage.

He never came close to going the way of Sage. In the Brown v Thompson fight he was dominant at times. He had Brown knocked out on his feet at two different points in that fight. But yes, it was a blessing in disguise.

Sage was way less developed than Wonderboy was at that point. I'm not sure Sage has what it takes to be a future contender but Barbarena isn't the worst guy an elite fighter has lost to.

I'd like to see a rematch, personally, but it doesn't make too much sense at this time.
