Was Jones really declined after 2,5 years layoff? His peak form was gone?

In last two fights - with OSP and DC 2 - Jones seemed not as quick and dynamic as in previous fights. It these fights he also didnt use a lot of new and unorthodox techiques like usual in the past. He was less flashy, more flatfooted, but maybe more IQ and discipline. How do you feel its because layoff or its general decline from his peak form?

better competition requires safer, more calculated game plans.

..... or you could say it's no more dick pills and coke, take your pick

He never really was the quickest. He probably was quicker back then because he was younger.

He doesn't need the speed for his game, though. Plus, he became stronger.

Looked like he would still end up in the hospital again if he ever fights Gus again.

Some of you fans are just exaggerating with this imaginary decline of Jon Jones' fighting ability. Do you people really believe he has superhuman ability to just completely disregard his opponent's talents, and smash them within a round?

The guy has high fight IQ, and understands the flashy stuff is not as effective when you are fighting game competitors. Plus, the stakes are much higher now that he is always fighting for a belt.

One thing with Jon Jones is that he has poor boxing, so his reach is not maximized.

He may have declined slightly physically, but he hasn't plunged off a cliff at 30. That was also 2 years of not taking wear and tear and he still has to get back in the swing of things again. I'd say if anything his career is extended. I'm not even a fan, but will be impartial.

He was tentative against OSP.

He was the old Jon against DC. He looked great in that fight. People don't know what they're watching.

I'm the biggest Jones hater there is, but DC2 was literally his best fight ever.

JJ Knocks out DC who has never been KOed in his entire Career and has fought HWs, and Sherdog responds with....O JJ did not look that good.
Tough crowd.....or they are high.

Cause I think DC declined too

convenient.

I thought his hands looked better against DC actually. He just knocked D.C. Out do it's hard to say he looked worse than last time

What's scary, Jones has not even peaked yet.

Jones vs DC 2 was the highest level mma fight we have ever seen.

Declined???
Long lay-off "may" have something to do with the ring rust...
In this case, cage rust.

That may be so, but I still don't see anyone beating him. Absolute savage!

That was the best Jon has ever looked.

Anyone who says otherwise Is a fucking Idiot and should be Ignored.
