I remember years ago that Dana went in to serious negotations regarding Fedor. The first problem was, Fedor wanting to train in sambo but Dana didn't want him to also compete. Later on Dana said " He can do the fucking sambo, the salsa the chacha as much as he fucking wants"

Then came other cost and later everything fell through when they asked for a co-promotion. I am curios to know, was Fedor and his company asking more money than Conor?

Doubtful.

Conor was ALREADY making the UFC brass shitloads of money, so he had his foot well in the door to make those negotiations.

Fedor had been on the sidelines, coming in cold. So Danas cheap ass probably didn't want to pay big up front before Fedor started actually pulling in that revenue.

Fedor didn't fight in the UFC because he didn't want to.

i thought it was because fedor was linked to m-1 global, and they wanted co-promotion, and a 50/50 split of the ppv revenue with the ufc.

plus, according to fedor, dana white was disrespectful and rude to his management.

Fedor was a big problem.

the co-promotion thing.

The money he asked. (And probably wasn't worth)

3 losses in a row when fought big names.

McGregor maybe never'll be the goat, or at least the greatest of his time. But the attention he drawn is way bigger than Fedors ever did.

This was my understanding.

I don't think is was a dollar that kept Fedor away from the UFC, it's that he would only fight is M1 would co-promote which would never fly in the UFC.

Fedor wouldn't have generated even a quarter of the attention Conor has. And plus, he would've gone on a massive losing streak. In hindsight, it was good that UFC didn't buy into Fedor.
