The way he was rag dolled last night , it seemed to be he would have been better off at his regular weight.

Should be gain that extra weight back ?

No, but training wrestling and grappling actual other skills in MMA could have prevented this loss. Lewis & Tuivasa are the worst fighters in the UFC. Any HW who fights smart & actually has all around MMA skills would have dominated last night.

He didn't really appear much better off in the cage, looked about the usual. Dude needs to worry about stopping a TD more than his weight.

Nae...it was his fight IQ and lack of preparation for the one thing his opponent does in every fight ...lol..

Weight had nothing to do with it

So true, or at the very least learn how to scramble out of it (not just using power). Can you imagine Lewis with Liddell's 2003 tdd?

I really like his fights, but he is a one trick pony that is slowing down and people are figuring out.

I almost made a post about it yesterday, if he had Chuck or Crocop TDD he'd be hard to deal with bc he can put you out with one shot. He just never seemed to learn any grappling at all. He has mostly come across to me, personally, as extremely lazy and not someone who has really ever had their heart in the game. I think he just uses this sport as a means to an end, take care of his family. That said, he's still done very well as a fighter despite it all, which makes me believe if he had real work ethic, and was there bc he really wanted to be, he'd have been a very good fighter.

Same outcome. Him being in better shape actually allowed him to get up multiple times, he just couldn't break the body lock or prevent himself from being taken down over and over again. His old shape he probably would've only been able to get up twice and then give up. HW isn't really a grappling heavy division. Not many are chain-wrestling and doing multiple mat returns. Lewis will still do well vs the majority of the top 10. Just a bad stylistic match-up for Lewis.
