Was Cruz offered an immediate rematch against Cody?

Just curious. Seems sort of odd to have Cody vs TJ 2 right after the first one. I mean, it is a great fight (the first was awesome) but why does Cody get a rematch? No one else to fight in the division? Is it really just the top 3 at bantamweight now? How does anyone break inside of the TJ, Cody, Cruz triangle?
 
Becuase cody almost Ko tj while cruz got tool’d by cody

but in the end, Cody got besmirched.

Cody also had zero title defenses whereas Cruz is the BW GOAT and had a defense on his then current run.

Bottom line Cody should not have gotten a rematch this quick

Joana was a dominant champ and Got the first loss to rose so that’s whiles joana got a immediate rematch.
And conor-diaz was also a huge upset which is while the rematch happened

Cruz was a dominant champ
 
Because it sells more than any of the other options
 
ACTUALLY cruz was offered an instant rematch but he turned it down wanting to rest and improve some things first.

they give Cody an immediate rematch because the tj-cody fight was close while Cody-cruz wasn’t

Tj and Cody was a close fight? What were you watching? I think you got that backwards. Cruz and Cody was a close fight
 
Thinking more for the ratings then anything... The beef from the first fight and the possible trash talk for the rematch. But Cruz should be next or at least fight another top 5 guy for the spot. 135 is stacked at the top and could produce some exciting match-ups.

Tj won the fight by tko but doesn’t change the fact that Cody was easily winning the fight before the head kick

I think you need to watch that fight again. Cody was no where near "easily winning" any of the rounds.

The division is so stacked. That's what doesn't make any sense to me in this rematch.

I wouldn't say easily winning. He won the first clearly though. He got stalked and dropped after TJ made the proper adjustment between rounds.
 
Cruz doesn't even seem interested in fighting
It's been nearly 2 years since that fight and he's barely talked about fighting
