I personally think he's overrated, he was given an easy route to the title. Faster than anyone that's ever been in the UFC. Undeserving imo, but understandable considering how much a draw he is.

He could have easily lost to lesser opponents while building up his resume. So I guess why not speed up the process and give him his title shot, with only a 2-1 record.

Well overall i would say he's rated right, but on sherdog people don't give him much credit at all, his carrer is short but honestly the hw division is not the best, would anyone say im crazy to put brock lesnar in the top 10 best heavyweights of all time ( like in 9th or 10th place ) ? Overall he's a very good fighter for hw standarts

This guy went after college to WWE and ade shit ton of money and then went to the UFC and fought Ubereem, prime Cain and Carwin.. . And this mofo wasn't 100% heahlty.

This 300lbs cardio machine isn't overrated, he's underrated.

He's UFCs best part time fighter of all time.

This is why i voted overrated. lol.

Decent fighter who made use of his few skills to beat some elite guys. Great transitioning from Pro Wrestling but nothing more than that.

How the hell can he be overrated than? He's a very solid fighter but not the best, i've never saw anyone putting him on the same boat as fesor or stipe... But he's good if anything people underrate him for how good he is and how little training in mma he had

The problem with this question is that there seems to be no general consensus on just how good Brock Lesnar was. People rate him wildly different.

i mean in a marketing sense he was overrated

but if you think about what this guy did, it's pretty impressive. he trained MMA for like six months before going into UFC against former champ Frank Mir
can you imagine having to debut against a former champ with six months of training?????
lesnar lost but he looked good in that fight and showed he could hang against tough vets in the heath herring fight

he had obvious limitations in his striking and grappling but the guy did well with his limited skill set

What do you mean faster title shot that anyone in the UFC? He had 2 fights then got one. Anderson Silva got one after 1 fight. Gilbert Melendez got a title shot in his very first UFC fights.
I assume you mean it's bc he had such minimal actual mma experience and not UFC experience.

Honestly the guy was a beast, went from WWE to UFC at like a moments notice and destroyed the heavyweight division.

Overrated during his career, underrated after.

It would have been nice to see the Cormier matchup.

Brock was great at beating one-dimensional fighters he had a size or wrestling advantage over. Nothing wrong with that.

But he clearly was outclassed when he went up against elite heavyweights. We can nitpick at his wins, but he can only fight who is in front of him.

If he had come on the scene 5-8 years sooner and hired an actual coach, maybe he could be in the GOAT conversation.

He became UFC heavyweight champ with a couple of fights.. to me that's impressive. He was / is a beast and who really knows how much his diverticulitis impacted him. His chin strength speed and wrestling were amazing. If he got into it earlier had better camps and a bit of striking he would have been up there with all time greats imo.
