So there is this clash between two energy groups, Buffett's corporation on one side while Elon Musk's group is in the other. I find this reminiscent of the story between Edison vs. Tesla which is ironic considering Musk has a company actually called "Tesla". It's the classic good ol' boy vs. young radical scenario.

Which side are you on?

I'm pretty much all-in for the Elongated Muskrat.

The Norwegian lady in the video has such a hillariously strong accent when speaking English that I can tell which city she's from, as well as what part of the city she grew up in.

Edison gets credit as some technical genius...he was a "tinkerer" and nowhere near the level of Tesla in terms of novel intelligence. Edison was a ruthless businessman, while Tesla was borderline autistic.

Buffett vs. Musk is more interesting, but I think Musk will go down as the much more interesting historical figure. Buffett is a master of human nature and economics, Musk transcends simple fields of inquiry and exists in a similar sphere as Tesla in so far as he is doing extremely novel things, or at least accelerating complex novel yet primitive functional science.

Tesla disagreed with Einsteins special relativity. Sort of interesting how that isn't brought up more.

And Newton believed in alchemy. No genius is immune from errors.

I'm not sure if he made an error. The physics don't match up. Under our understanding of physics there isn't enough matter to keep the galaxies from spinning themselves apart. They should also be spinning 10x faster. If dark matter doesn't pan out we have to admit there are major flaws in the science.

I heard Norwegian immediately.

Also, hard to not side with Musk on this issue.

Not to deny Tesla's brilliance, but I'm honestly getting a bit sick of hearing about him. Fifteen years ago nobody had ever talked about him, now it's like it's the hipster thing to do, bringing him up whenever possible.

Musk is not even in the same league as Tesla. One is a genius scientist, the other an astute businessman.

Without the internet you'd never hear of him. That's why you've only heard over the last 15 years. The powers that be wanted all information like this suppressed and controlled.

That's fine. But I don't need to keep hearing about him. I love alternating current as much as the next man, but really he's like cilantro now. Just everywhere.

Having worked with both directly/indirectly...I don't see what you're getting at, other than 2 wealthy people

Planet Vs. No Planet

hmmm no

Seriously i dont give a fuck about solar power. Fusion power is more important then stupid solar.

The only effective way is getting it is from Space. Which we currently don't have the means of doing that yet. unless they plan to build a space elevator
which no one currently has the balls to do so.

Or how about space colonys or colonizing the moon or mars?
