I've been watching Ozarks which is apparently a true story about how FBI agents fuck eachother.

great Show. Ozark.

Jason Bateman was perfectly casted. I mentioned this before, but this show gives me a great deal of vicarious stress. Couldn't imagine being in debt or in debted to the Mexican cartel.
 
Ozarks = great show but the accounting premise is completely broken until which is annoying.

You need fake revenue not fake expenses to launder money. The strip joint and casino could make sense. The dock renovations and church was just ???????.

Apologies if this is a repeat for some :).

Casino and strip joint would make perfect sense...

I was kind of confused with the dock renovations, buying that bar, and the crematorium.

I only said could because with the casino I can’t remember if they were still doing the expenses thing with renovations. The part where they had fake customers come in a lose money they had given them was when it started to finally make sense.

The crematorium would only make sense if they were able to fake the buy price. Ie give the guy a million and get him to only declare a small amount. You then get rid of a million of illegal cash and get a taxable revenue stream worth a million. I don’t think that’s what happened here.

Ok the writing on Ozark is good but has flaws. The Snell's lines are overwritten. It's like the densest british old lady drama delivered by rednecks. The snells lines alone are unrealistic. Thats not to say a hillbilly can't be a mensa member, but hillbilly traffickers don't deliver prose like shakespeare
