Aligande is the name of the traditional form of stick fighting of the Iraqw tribe of northern Tanzania. It is a double stick fighting system similar to Zulu stick fighting, but the hand holding the defending stick is wrapped in cloth for protection instead of using a small shield. There us a single stick version as well.

Note that the training method is actually playing the game. They must employ compound feinting in order to penetrate the formidable defense. The fighting structure is based on having a very tight defense, then attacking from there. Note that the gentleman on the right attacks with his defending stick as well toward the end of the video.
