He really said that?

Yep, word for word iirc

I found the video I think. He said something about the Soviet Union and Maoist China being a reason why Communism doesn’t work and if someone says those two examples aren’t real communism they should be punched in the face.
@Gandhi Not word for word, but even worse imo, because he's instructing violence in response to attempts at clarity and nuance, and not giving in to aggressive misrepresentation.
For 7000 dollars ?I think they're selling it as a service, not a feature. Like e.g. you can have a weekend of autopilot or additional HP.
Other OEMs also don't unlock all features. E.g. less HP on the same engine, to be unlocked electronically.
Again, it's a little hard to explain, so think whatever you want. Mean time, I'll be looking for a different way to get rich than draining the bank accounts of suckers who buy my snake oil.Yeah, I know what you mean. I saw a puppy get hit by a car last Sunday and was going to feel empathy, but i didn’t want to blow all my empathy just in case a kid got cancer later in the week and risk being the awkward emotionless guy.
Your initial hateful post and your subsequent goal post-moving posts took more “emotional energy” than it would to have just thought “man, that sucks”.
Sounds like you play limit. 4-8 is low-stakes there but in no-limit, 4-8 would be considered mid stakes by most people. I didn't play cash as much and online the micros are harder than live tables, so you'd have to be really good to survive at even $3-6 no-limit. I played sit-n-gos mostly. Low buy-in, tons of tables.that's awesome regarding Poker. by low stakes do you mean 8-16 blinds, or 4-8?
I think I had maybe ...four 1000+ days in my career.

I really, really, really liked playing with "big ballers" handing out free money at the NL tables. I loved players who called everything to the river.yea, No Limit is pretty fu*king cut throat....
back in my Poker days I switched to no-limit late in my career. I played it safe....made profits here and there...
but my bad nights....could be really bad. especially when you have the 2nd best nuts.
and it fu*king really sucked playing with Whales, and big ballers who played No-LImit like it was pocket change, calling everything to the river.
anyway, I'm so glad I retired from that.
I'm afraid you misunderstand me completely. But that's my bad because I made an off-hand comment without being willing to go into the detail required to make my intent clearer. I don't dismiss his plight. I suggest he has many orders of magnitude more support and resources than the many others who are having as much, if not more trouble, without bilking people out of money they can't afford to spend. What of them? We can disagree on whether he's a snakeoil salesman, but it sounds like you admit there's evidence to support the assertion. So the only people suffering from addictions who deserve sympathy are those who help others suffering from addiction?
First off that's pretty ridiculous as people suffering from addiction are often not in any position to help anyone, even themselves. Second he is a clinical psychologist so he probably has helped people with such issues through out his career.
So yeah, silly reason to dismiss his plight. If you don't care and can't muster sympathy maybe at least don't be a cunt about it.
Unlike Rush's case it really is because he has the wrong opinions. I won't deny he's polarizing but he gets piled on way too harshly given what he's actually said, its really not outside the norm for public intellectuals especially nowadays
I've always said his best work is the stuff he put out there before becoming famous. When he got into the spotlight he quickly got sorted to the right by the media landscape which quickly shaped his audience and once it took shape it calcified and he ended up pandering to them to sustain his more public career.
When you're a professor, you've got a captive audience. Those students have to listen to you whether they like what you say or not because they need the credits and hopefully because they also want to learn. But when you are selling tickets on a speaking tour you don't want to tell the audience something that might hurt the ticket sales of your next appearances or your Patreon numbers or your book sales and so on. One of the insidious effects that the profit motive has on public discourse.
Today I learned that a lot of people in the War Room have a serious hard-on for Jordan Peterson.

Wendover had good games at the Rainbow Casino (pensioners, alcoholics), I think it's remodeled and may have been moved/taken over by Peppermill or The Nugget since I was there last. You want to bring more like $200 to sit at any live poker table, and be prepared to lose it and not sweat it too much. Now that I don’t have access to them I kinda want to go to a casino with like $40 and sit at the poker table with a drink for an hour and see what happens
You should have puked right in her face, and then told her you were following Rule 10: Be Precise in Your Speech.Kafir probably has the most balanced views on Peterson. My wife told me she was reading a great book on life and held his book up. Needless to say I almost vomited on her. That said he does have some interesting points that only the most woke asshole would find offensive. I just can’t take anyone that talks about “cultural Marxism” too seriously. I don’t wish him ill though, he is not some alt right Spenser.
