As I have pointed out before, conservative/liberal is not a proper way to describe judges and justices. Here we have all the justices you called "conservative" voting to enable states to legalize a very unconservative practice (sports gambling). Three of the "liberal" justices voted to keep restrictions in place.

Of course, the truth is that the "conservative" block is not actually conservative---they are textualist/originalists who favor state's rights and limited federal powers as demanded by the Constitution. See Thomas's excellent dissent in particular.

Holy shit, stay in your lane. The conservative/liberal court distinction has been proper terminology for decades and is used by most every law professor in the country.

And, yes, the conservatives are conservatives: that's why, despite making up a minuscule portion of elite law school graduates, they get appointed to the judiciary at a disproportionate rate by conservative administrations. It's not because they are just the tiny fraction of the legal community that understand or respect the dictates of the Constitution: it's that their backwardly justified interpretations are stupid enough to be amenable to laymen who elect politicians.

Also, "federalism" is probably (and I am paraphrasing my Con Law professor here) the dumbest and most vapid justification used by both sides of the court: there is zero doctrinal consistency on the issue of federalism, and conservative and liberal justices alike are willing to marginalize it for their own purposes. However, I would admit that Thomas (who, though, has never written an "excellent dissent" in his life) is more consistent on federalist issues than Scalia, and probably Roberts/Kennedy/Alito as well. But he makes up for it in hilariously inconsistent holdings on civil rights.

This is mostly true, except your point about the RAF.

The RAF was actually on its last legs till the shift in bombing strategy by the Germans from airfields to population centers. They literally were a weeks if not days from being nearly inoperable before the shift came. Their pilots were operating under extreme fatigue since they were constantly flying or being bombed. Their runways were cratered and rapidly becoming non-functional.

It was actually a mistake too. A lone German bomber lost its course and decided to drop its bombs and head back. It ended up being a suburb of London. The allies retaliated by bombing Berlin. This was such an ideological blow that Hitler ordered British cities bombed in retaliation which gave the RAF the breathing room it needed to reorganized and repair.

Napoleon was a cunt. He was tactically brilliant but even dumber than Hitler when it came to strategy. He had no strategy he just thought he couldn't be beaten. He was terrible to his men and local populations. A huge liar and double dealer. Just look into his Egyptian campaign which he claimed as a success yet was actually an enormous failure. His march home from Moscow was also obviously was one of the biggest military disasters of all time.

no its not, i said the RAF was very overstretched, and although it was outproducing the germans in planes, at the time of the battle the numbers were on the german side in pilots and planes.
hes claiming the germans underestimated britain, thats bullshit, i stated a few posts back if it wasnt for radar and hitler switching to london raids the RAF would have been defeated in weeks.
a combination of timing, luck, radar, and skill of british, polish and canadian pilots ensured victory,
hitler was hesitant to invade at first because he overestimated britains war readiness and material stockpile, both of which were crap at the beggining of the war, the navy had to pull its larger ships out of the channel because of the luftwaffe , he tried bluffing, thinking britain would sue for peace, then hitler changed his mind and diverted resources to invading russia, but if he hadnt, the so called home guard, of old men and boys, and lack of equipment would have meant a succesful invasion.
