Plus, if you are just at the range .38 special ammo is cheaper! If I was confident I could fire several shots with the .357 mag loads (giggity) accurately in a stressful situation I would use those for defense, but just popping off rounds it's .38 special all day long. That is a beast of a gun, brother. Intimidation factor just brandishing it.

On a recoil note, by dad had a Ruger Super Blackhawk (stainless) that was scoped for deer chambered in .44 mag. Not a fun gun to zero in. Killed your wrist. Of course, you could shoot .44 specials in it, but it isn't a gun you would pop off rounds for fun anyway. It also didn't help that I am a limp-wrist commie cocksucker.

Same! It’s just, if I need to fire one or two shots, the 357 is okay but 5 shots accurately under stress? Too much to ask.

I think if I was carrying it out I would go .357 mag. If it was in the nightstand beside the bed, I'd go .44 special. You will most likely be disoriented in a home invasion situation. Great topic, Sherbro.

My friend in Mass. says laws are pretty crazy there too. She works for a security firm and had to go through all kinds of stuff to carry them and has to be re-certified yearly. This country is saturated with weapons. I have pretty much given up the fight on trying to regulate guns. Other areas that will bear more fruit need to be focused on.

Yeah when I lived in mass it was useless to try and own a gun. I left mine with my dad. The laws are pretty strict.

That's a good number. I remember watching a show speaking to a group of some type of investment bankers. One guy was laughed at by the rest because he wanted to live off the interest earned on $5 million to have a house on the coast and a boat to go out fishing. The rest thought that was a paltry sum and stated they wouldn't quit until they had private jets and helicopters. Maybe I'm just too liberal but I think that's the group that should pay the highest tax rates.

Amazes me when drug dealers carry on the risk after they've made a few million, fuck that, go legit and don't risk 10 -20 in the slammer.

I have buck in there but you can do bird buck or slugs. The minis essentially reduce the recoil to nothing. Pop a laser on there and it’s a very reliable home defense weapon.

Do you every worry about the metallurgy of the parts looking for good deals? I guess it depends on your philosophy but as a collector of things I tend to save up for a $10k item rather than having 10 $1k pieces. I'm on the lookout for a good deal but more from something on the secondary market or when a trusted manufacturer has a good sale.

It's the exact same as a military issue M4A1 besides not being select fire and having a pinned and welded A2X so it's not NFA.

Wasn't even aware of a 1.75" shell. I'm old, lol. I want an auto. I understand theoretically it could jam, but it mitigates the recoil. Give me 3-inch 00 buck for the first 2 then a couple slugs then go back to 00. I'm just kind of fucking around with even putting slugs in there but it's an interesting proposition. Mind you I don't have kids in the house so I don't have to worry about firing through walls and hitting people.
