Social War Room Lounge Thread #325: PotWR Edition

In New Jersey they are not in Texas though.

It will come about due to massive unemployment with integration of AI into the workplace at large. You’re going to see massive double digit unemployment.
Dude, the unemployment rate here when I graduated high school was 12% for the nation as a whole, much higher in my province. In the US it was nearly 10%. For young adults it was even higher. It wasn't the end of the world then and it's not now. That's not nearly on the same level as the GFC.

Man, I had such a beautiful 1911 but I sold it to a dude at work who later died of cancer and I don’t know what happened to it.

He was a great guy btw, miss him more than some stupid firearm.

His name was Calvin, Cal for short. Such a great soul. Pancreatic cancer, gone in seven months.
My older brother is battling cancer right now. He's a shadow of his former self. Here's hoping we get mRNA cancer vaccines sooner rather than later. Too bad the Trump wants to bar all such research in the US. Good luck, and I mean that.

I meant high double digits. 15-20%+ sustained for a long long time. 20% if we’re lucky.

Spent a small fortune on precious metals. Gold and silver rounds and bars. Value varies tbh, but it’s great on Halloween when I dress up as a pirate and spread it all over the table.
“Arrgy Arrg, me bounty and booty! Arrg!”

Must remind you of your youth back in 1730.

Indeed. I have a .38 snubby that would be my #1 choice for self-defense if I had to choose. Fucker will hammer nails and still group well at 25 yds.
If I lived in America, the 38 snub nose would be my choice as well. I'm sure gun lovers would say there is something way better now.

Always loved the look and practicality for defense of that little thing.

More than enough stopping power and reliable as hell. I would opt for a hammerless if I were to buy one now but mine in an older Colt nickel plated from the 70's or 80's.

I have a hammerless S&W snubby. It loads .357 mags or 38 special I don’t love the .357 mags though too much kick but anyone getting hit with hollow 357s is in for a bad day.

Plus, if you are just at the range .38 special ammo is cheaper! If I was confident I could fire several shots with the .357 mag loads (giggity) accurately in a stressful situation I would use those for defense, but just popping off rounds it's .38 special all day long. That is a beast of a gun, brother. Intimidation factor just brandishing it.

On a recoil note, by dad had a Ruger Super Blackhawk (stainless) that was scoped for deer chambered in .44 mag. Not a fun gun to zero in. Killed your wrist. Of course, you could shoot .44 specials in it, but it isn't a gun you would pop off rounds for fun anyway. It also didn't help that I am a limp-wrist commie cocksucker.
